This is honestly one of the best seafood places I’ve ever ate at in Gwinnett BUT the light skinned older black lady today was so so rude to me and my guest. I am a normal customer, like I come minimum once a week and today I came with a friend who’s never been here before. When the lady approached us I told her I wanted the shrimp basket, she said “how many there’s more than one selection up there”, I told her 12. My guest said he wanted a fish taco then said he wanted a shrimp po boy which I admit was confusing at first. So when he deciphered back and forth between the fish taco and shrimp po boy the lady rolled her eyes at us and said “oh lord” and began getting impatient. My friend decided that he wanted the fish taco and he asked her what kind of first was on the taco. The lady told him grouper but he could substitute it with 3 other fishes. The lady began explaining to him in a nonchalant and frustrated tone to where we tuned her out but we’re still listening. Now me and friend are far from illiterate as he owns a trucking company and I own a behavioral health business in Gwinnett as well. So after half explaining it to us she stepped to the other cash register and said verbatim “I got stuff to do, I can be doing something else” and left us standing there until she got ready to take our order. Now I work in behavioral health so I have patience in knowing that some people have good days and bad days and to not take it personal, but I literally sat there as I ate my food in the restaurant and observed her take 3 peoples order ahead of us, a Hispanic couple, older black lady and a white older couple. The white older couple told her while looking at the menu that it was their first time at the restaurant and she literally for 5 minutes explained the whole menu to them. Her tone was not aggressive, she was patient as they deciphered between meals they wanted and their side orders. She smiled at them and her voice was so calm. I am so so disappointed in this woman’s behavior. All of the other staff are always nice and welcoming so this is not a repeated problem. We still enjoyed our food despite the unpleasant taste she put...
Read moreI really wanted to write a bad review. I found this spot via Google amd figured I'd give it a try. I placed my order for catfish nuggets online, via their website. The quoted time after check out was 6pm (17 minutes). I got there at 5:57. I knew i was early but went ahead and told the cashier I was there to pick up an online order. She let me know that it would be a few more minutes. No prob. I was a little early. 6:10 comes and I asked about the order and she says a few more minutes. I say ok, but I feel myself getting annoyed. I waited 5 more minutes and asks her to just refund the order. She goes to the back and I can hear the older guy. I couldn't make it starry was being said, but he sounded annoyed. Then a different young lady comes out and I explained that the order was supposed to be ready at 6. The text said to pick up between 6 and 6:05, and it's now 6:20. I just want a refund. She tells me i need to contact Doordash because the order went through them. Since I was in their site, I wasn't paying attention to that. I then asked her if they could please expedite the order because I needed to go. The older guy comes out and apologized and said he'd put some extra nuggets in the order for the inconvenience. I'm annoyed. I don't want extra food, I just want my order. He gives me a cup for a free drink. I'm heated so I took the cup and got water. He comes back and said its almost done and repeats he's going to put extra in there. I finally get my order at 6:25. I'd decided that I would not be going back again. Then I got home and tasted the catfish. I'm big on customer service and especially communication. If you tell a customer "hey, we're a little behind but working to get the orders out as soon as possible, most will be ok. If you tell a customer, "just s few more minutes" but then tell them the same thing 15 minutes later, that's poor communication and poor customer service.
I may try them again, solely because the catfish nuggets are really good, but I'm not waiting that long again.
You have a good product. Please work on the service and...
Read moreSad to say, but a restaurant that I was very fond of (( approx. 5-6 years )), has truly fallen to unacceptable service / Non -Southern hospitality...)
I always enjoyed supporting this business for years, and had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners ( wife and family members )....Approx. 4 mo. ago I visited store an order.. Everything seemed normal, and in place as I remembered...It had been a good while since my last visit, and I notice they were now serving grits, so I happily placed on order...
Everything was good until this young female cook from the back, came out and said ((WITH A NASTY, RUDE EAST COAST ATTITUDE )) that we stop serving grits at a certain time, but I have a little bit left over...Well needles to say, I was so taken back, because I could not believe they would put someone there that was so unprofessional, and unpleasant...
Not to mention the confusion as to why she had the tone in her voice...
As disappointed as I was, due to a family business I took pride in supporting, and telling other about it, because of the friendly, and good customer service, and food they offered...The owner of the place used to work there, along with other young females ( children, and or family members of the owners Husband &Wife )...
So today, I go in, (( Because I'm on that side of town )) to have lunch, and came across the cook again, but this time she's taking the order..."AND AGAIN " the same rude nasty attitude, right off the rip...I immediately placed a simple order, so that I could hurry up, eat my food and leave..after placing my order, I respectfully asked the cook, if the restaurant was still own by the original owners, and she stated yes...
My heart had sunk by her reply, because I knew I would not be returning, and would be letting family know of my experience...I not sure where this female is from, but I know for sure, she's 'NOT' from the south...
also, there was an friendly, and professional older gentleman there who was very respectful and kind... (Music was...
