Ya'll this is the first time I have written a review on a restaurant and I am done! I don't know what happened to the quality & experience of some Ethiopian restaurants in Atlanta, GA but this is happened to me twice and something has certainly changed for me. I can only blame myself for not following my first instincts. I went to this restaurant on a Sunday and waited almost 20 mins before some acknowledged me. Red flag. It would then take an additional 40 mins before my to go order was ready. Red flag. I asked for extra injera and was told that I needed to purchase an entire bag at the mart next door which cost an additional $6.00. Red flag. Frustrated, I took my order and left. What??? I ordered the lentil sambussa and it was dry and burnt looking. The lamb soup was decent but the vegetarian combo was shameful. No salad, the green beans were literally over cooked and shriveled up, the beets tasted old, the brown injera was dry unlike the white that I just purchased which was fresh. Where was the freshness, care and love in this food?? The overall presentation and quality was just baffling as I am not accustomed to experiencing this poor quality of Ethiopian food anywhere in the country. I was so disgusted that I pulled over and threw the entire experience in the dumpster. I should have taken a picture. I couldn't help thinking (and pray I am wrong) that If this was an attempt to send a message to an African American that you are not welcomed here, I get it! I will NEVER return here again. My intention is not to give all Ethiopian restaurants a bad name, but on this day ya'll the quality here was extremely poor. For now on I'm sticking to my tried, tested, and proven Embilta Cafe on Cheshire where love, quality, presentation, &...

Piassa Ethiopian Restaurant is an absolute gem in Atlanta! I can confidently say that I've never experienced anything quite like it in the USA. Walking in feels like stepping into a museum where every corner tells a story of Ethiopian culture and heritage. As an Ethiopian, I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic and rich the atmosphere is it's not just a restaurant; it's an immersion into my own roots.

I have to commend Ato Dagmawi, the owner, for creating such a remarkable establishment. His passion for Ethiopian culture shines through every detail, from the decor to the music. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, but the real star here is the food.

Speaking of which, their Kintot Special is absolutely divine. It's a true representation of traditional Ethiopian cuisine with flavors that transport you straight to Addis Ababa. The injera is perfectly fluffy, and the variety of dishes offered is extensive and authentic. Each bite was a nostalgic journey for me, reminding me of home.

Thank you, Piassa Ethiopian Restaurant, for not only serving incredible food but also for preserving and sharing the beautiful culture of Ethiopia. I can't wait to bring more friends and family here to share in this amazing experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to taste something truly...

I went to Piassa to celebrate a birthday.

Unsurprisingly, the food was fantastic! I ordered the lamb wot and shared some tibs, and bozena shiro. The lamb wot was juicy, nicely seasoned with berbere, and quite spicy! The shiro had a near-perfect consistency, and the tibs were tender, well seasoned and kicked up a notch with the sauce served on the side.

However, I have been on the fence on whether to give it 4 or 5 stars. I can't give Piazza 5 stars.

First, I do wish they served our food on one big injera instead of individual plates, which would have made it easier to share all of our food.

Second, unless you are getting shiro, chechebsa, or one of the cheaper menu items without any drinks, be prepared to spend at least $25 for dinner. Piazza is somewhat pricy! In addition, I was overcharged for tella. Either update the menu prices, or get good at math!

Lastly, it's no Ghion, which is what I would recommend instead if you want to go out Ethiopian food. It's cheaper and straight FIRE in quality! To Piassa's credit, it's nearly impossible to beat what I consider a restaurant with master class food. If you are close to Piassa and don't want to drive a distance, Piassa is...

I ate at Piassa Ethiopian restaurant today for the first time and it was absolutely amazing food, very flavorful !! I love the staff and environment. It’s very calming and laid back and the decor in the restaurant is very colorful and traditional and you can learn so much about the history and culture being there. The music and atmosphere is great and If you’re Ethiopian like myself, you’ll feel right at home and if you’re not Ethiopian it’s still a experience! And I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time. Love this place if I could give it a ten star I would. You definitely have to check out Piassa if you’re in the Atlanta area.

Yesteday, me and my wife had a chance to visit Piassa restaurant. First off, we were very amused by its Ethiopian cultural decor and view. We escorted to our table by the owner - that was GREAT!! We order the KINTOT SPECIAL to give it a try, the meal that would be enough for five people but since we were out of state, we decided to take the leftover for 4 hours drive to go back home. The food gets A+ grade from my wife - that tells me everything. The service was super. I would like to thank our server Alazar, a humble Ethiopian, that adds our dining experince more spices. I proudly recommend this place !!! Thank you

If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian food then this is the spot. It helps to go with someone that knows how to order or is possibly Ethiopian but normal everyday people can figure the menu out for sure. Also they have helpful staff. The outside of the building is a little sketchy but sometimes those are some of the best places. The inside looks like a little village and had a cool vibe. The food was served in a unique way and the seating was nice and private. We would like to explore the menu more on a return visit. I would also mention that the pricing was very good for the amount of food that you get.
