Ooooh nelly, we had a rough time here. We are currently driving back from Orlando and decided to stop and have a nice sit down dinner before another long leg of driving. We sat down right after another family who walked in in front of us. There was a large family seated next to us and they looked super annoyed. Apparently, they were trying to get the check and had been there for 3 hrs. Our server came over and took our order. That's at 7:05. I got my beer at 7:15 no food. At 7:30 my husband hadn't gotten his lemonade and we still didn't have food. The other family that walked in at the same time signalled their waitress for their check. 7:40 no food still and the other family was paying and leaving. At that point I asked the hostess where the manager was, call me a karen if you want but on a 15 hour drive I can't spend 3 hours in a restaurant. The manager came over. I explained we can't hang out for 3 hours and asked if someone could help the waitress as she seemed overwhelmed. The manager agreed and went to speak to the waitress, who started screaming in the pass and then walked out. The manager then came and told us that our food wasn't even in aside from 1 entree...... she got us another waitress and they got us food in about 10 minutes. So over an hour for food at a place that also has a drive thru window..... The food was decent. Service was better after we got a waitress that actually wanted to be a waitress. But it's gotta be management, when the hostess sat us she walked three adults to a table with 2 chairs and then dropped the silverware and walked away we actually grabbed a chair from a different table for my father in law. Order take out , skip the...
Read moreI had high hopes for this play after seeing so many reviews on Google and a good rating. Usually, that's a good sign to me when trying a restaurant for the first time. Unfortunately, this wasn't that case. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because my waitress was good, and it was cheap, so I'm not so upset.
My waitress was great, and the restaurant seemed clean, but that's where the positive experience ended. I've been to BBQ and smokehouse restaurants all around the country, and this had to be one of the worst I can remember ever being to. The food reminded me of cafeteria food TBH. The "smoked" chicken wings were chewy, the brisket was dry, the mac and cheese had ZERO flavor, and it tasted like it was made with artificial cheese, and the string beans tasted like they were fresh, from can to table. Most BBQ and smokehouse restaurants I go to, I barely like to pit BBQ sauce on my flood because I want to taste the goof smoke flavor, at this place, I had to flood everything with sauce to make it somewhat enjoyable.
I have never been to a BBQ/smokehouse restaurant where ALL the food was so bland. Even the "famous" sweet tea was bad, something that is a staple for the south. It tasted like horrible. The only thing that had good flavor was the cornbread, but make sure you have a glass of water because it was DRY. Two of the BBQ sauces were pretty good, which is important because you will need it!
How this restaurant received so many 5-star reviews is a mystery to me. I would not recommend this to anyone unless your main goal is to have...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious! We were traveling from Jacksonville back to Savannah and saw the sign on I95 so we decided to stop, we had been talking about wanting BBQ for a couple of weeks so we went to try it out! Teresa was our server and she was super nice! Everyone was social distanced and employees all had on masks. We decided to share the Sonny Sampler and we got fried pickles and loaded tots. I've honestly never had better loaded tots anywhere. They were absolutely delicious, perfectly crispy (I hate soggy tots) even the sauce covered ones! The onions on them were crispy and so delicious. The fried pickles were also delicious and crispy! The Sonnys sampler included a nice mound of pulled pork, 4 slices of brisket, 2 giant ribs,1/4 chicken (we got white meat so it was a wing and breast) along with 2 sides (we went with beans and coleslaw) and a peice of yummy garlic bread. They have all their sauces in a little caddy that is brought to the table so we tried them all of course, they were all really good but our favorite was the sweet. We were completely stuffed and needed a nap after eating all of that! It was so so good though!! Next time we go down I95 we will certainly be stopping by for another meal! Hopefully Teresa is working again, she...
