First time customer but avid BBQ eater. I must say I was impressed with my order (4 meat platter- smoked wings, brisket, pulled chicken, baby back ribs), sweet tea, Mac n cheese, baked beans, cornbread, garlic bread, and banana pudding. I did a DoorDash order and when I got it was still warm. Unfortunately I got a visitor at the same time so I had to wait a few minutes to finally eat it and it had cooled off but I will say this- it was delicious even cool! The portions were very generous as well. The wings were phenomenal! Easily some of the best wings I have had. Flavor throughout and not tough at all. Ribs were juicy and literally pulled right off the meat with not meat left on the bone. The flavor was exactly what I expected. Pulled chicken was flavorful but on the drier side (somewhat to be expected with chicken tbh), definitely my least favorite from everything I got. The sliced brisket was juicy and the bark firm and full of flavor. The meat was also really good without the bark so well flavored throughout. The garlic bread was good but the cornbread was hard as a rock and I didn’t even eat it. The banana pudding was great as was the Mac n cheese and baked beans. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

While Sonny's BBQ is renowned for its consistent quality, excellent service, and value, my recent visit to this location left much to be desired. Despite their reputation for freshly prepared, flavorful dishes, the St. Louis dry rub ribs fell short of expectations. It's uncertain whether the ribs were cooked earlier in the day or even the day before my visit. While I appreciate the concept of a dry rub, it shouldn't result in meat that's lukewarm and excessively dry. Unfortunately, these ribs were undersized, tough, and lacked moisture, greatly diminishing their appeal. Their lack of juiciness and excessive chewiness, combined with being served at room temperature, further detracted from the experience. Although the garlic bread, cole slaw, and a refreshing glass of water provided some consolation, they couldn't overshadow the overall disappointment. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this location for those seeking a freshly cooked, hot meal, especially during the early bird lunch hours. Perhaps later in the day, when BBQ meats are freshly prepared, the experience might be more satisfying.

I wanted to see what the hype was about. Maybe I chose a bad day though. They get 2 stars for timeliness, the reasonable price, and quantity of food. I got the 3 meat 2 side platter/meal. Let’s start off by saying the garlic bread was the most flavorful and edible thing on my plate; the ribs were a 2/5 they were mostly burnt didn’t have much meat on them but the bbq sauce gave them flavor, the chicken 0/5 undercooked, no flavor at all— couldn’t finish it, the sliced pork 0/5 dry, unseasoned, no flavor not even salt- couldn’t finish it (at least my dog has something fun to eat tonight). Mac and cheese 2/5 your basic cheese and noodles, no flavor, the baked beans 0/5 I couldn’t eat more than 2 bites, the second bite was to make sure it was really as disgusting as I thought. This is the harshest review I’ve ever made, but I have to be completely honest. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else. Somewhere that at least salts their food at minimum. It taste like everything was taken out of a frozen bag and slapped in an oven. But it’s a chain restaurant, can’t expect much.

First and last time here, AT THIS LOCATION. I didn't read the reviews first, I wish I did because what I experienced March 24th, 2019 was ridiculous. Hostess sat my date and I down with the menus. I kept seeing one older woman walk back and forth to clean a table off on the back, never acknowledged us, then she seats down a family of about 6 and a baby. She brought them drinks AND food. She sat and talked with them over 20 minutes so clearly she knew them. Another server kept walking by too, so finally after over 10 minutes, I asked her who was our server? She went to get him and he shows up as if he just woke up from a nap. He takes our drink and food order then leaves. He then has two other tables that he has to take care of and each table kept asking, I'm assuming the manager, where was their server and the manager had to 'hunt him down" and she even had to ask the hostess to take a drink order for his other table. One table was so upset she stood near us and asked where was her server to the manager and then her server walks up and rudely says "why are you standing there? I was on my way." The lady told her that they had been waiting 20 minutes. She took their drink order but then grabs her purse and goes outside. Never seen her the rest of the evening. ALL of the servers took care of the regular customers since I had plenty of time to just observe but if they didn't know you, they slacked their a** off. The regular customers had their food and drinks before us! The food was just decent. We ordered the all you can eat ribs and some of the bones barely had meat. Our server was MIA so much that I had to have my date keep looking over my shoulder to tell me when he got just even a glimpse of the server in the kitchen or near another table so I could flag him down. The owner of this place needs new TRAINED, friendly staff who can be attentive; these folks act like they don't want to work, very lazy. I...

After a series of bad service and bad food a little over a year ago we decided to give them another chance in hopes that they had improved. We were half right. Our waitress was nice and pretty content but the food was pretty bad still. Now the good part is all the sides were really good and we got corn nuggets as an appetizer and they were good even though they didn't put the powdered sugar on them which I'm not quite sure I would have liked anyway. Now the bad. My wife had to pick three meat and she got the pulled pork which wasn't actually pulled it was more like four big chunks with a few strands and the problem with that was we basically had to shred it ourselves then that had no sauce or liquid in it so it was very dry and not very tasty. The second was the quarter chicken white and it was pretty good and juicy but had way too much fake smoke flavoring. And actuality, about everything had a very heavy fake smoke taste. I've been eating smoked barbecue for over 30 years so I know what natural smoke taste like and this just wasn't it. Her third meat was the wings which you only get three of and they were so crispy that you couldn't bite into them they were so hard which is confusing because they were supposed to be smoked wings wasn't sure why they tasted like they were smoked then deep fried for like 30 minutes. Had a burnt char taste to it. I had the baby back ribs which tasted good but literally look like they came from a pigeon and not a pig. The entire rack was probably about 7 in long it didn't even cover the plate and the littlest bones were about half the size of my pinky and I have small hands and the biggest bone wasn't even as long as my index finger. Maybe I expect more for $23 but honestly this would have made about half a rack at any other restaurant so that was very disappointing. However the baked beans, mac and cheese coleslaw and of course the corn nuggets were...

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. We eat Sonny’s a lot when we’re on the road because it’s a chain and the experience should be consistent. We love their sliced pork and buy it by the pound.

But this place was awful.

First, we had to wait about 30 min for our take out. They weren’t busy. There was one customer in the restaurant. I had to keep asking about the order. Lots of people standing around the order window and several in the kitchen doing nothing. Second, this Sonny’s doesn’t honor the military discount that is accepted at other Sonny’s. But ONLY on take out. WHAT KIND OF A PLACE DOES THAT??? If we sat down in the restaurant we would get the military discount. Our money is the same either way. What a slap in the face for our military.

Lastly, the pork wasn’t great. Too bad we were already on the road when we started eating it. It was tough and there was a pile of water in the bottom of the container so a “pound of meat” wasn’t really a pound of meat.

Steer clear of this place. It’s a waste of your money.

Additional note 10/6/23: Sonny’s responded to my review and apologized in addition to asking me to email them more info. I did that and their note that used to be on this review is gone. Never have heard from them in reply to my email. And, BTW, I do have a screen shot of what they posted here and have...
