They have the best wings I've ever had and they're reasonably priced. I prefer carry out, but dinning in isn't terrible.
06/01/2025 - I'm updating my review because my mom, my sister, and I visited yesterday and enjoyed the wings but after we paid we realized that there were several extra fees on our receipt (notice I said after we paid). If you pay by credit card you will be presented with the handheld machine to make your transaction. The credit card reader will give you your total ONLY. There is no break down or itemized receipt so that you can understand your balance BEFORE you pay, that will be given to you AFTER you've decided your tip amount, inserted your credit card and paid. Once we reviewed our receipt, we realized that there was a pretty sizable 'service fee', which was basically gratuity. In addition, the receipt showed a alcohol tax, although none of us had any alcohol, only sweet tea and water. We asked the server about the alcohol tax and she advised she would ask the other staff/manager about the charge. She returned with a refund of this tax to my mother and me because we had separate bills. We then asked about the service fee although we concluded that it was another term for gratuity. The waitress explained that there were signs posted in the restaurant that notifies the customer of the service fee. She pointed to two of the notebook size signs posted on beams in the restaurant. I wanted clarification on why the process is to have the customer pay then present them with an itemized receipt showing all of there charges instead of the opposite, so I requested the manager. I also wanted to express my disappointment in the way the charges were assessed. Finally the manager explained that the service fee is split with between the server, the person that cleans the tables, and the bartender and that it's their policy because sometimes people don't tip at all. The manager (Kitty) gave us 15$ off our next visit for the misunderstanding and inconvenience. Although the food was still very good and the service was friendly and professional, it makes me pause on returning because with the extra fees my bill went from approximately $58.72 to $70.70 and that doesn't include the tip ($11.83) that I decided to give the waitress.
09/06/2025 Update - My family and I gave Cafe Hot Wings another chance today because it use to be our place to get hot/lemon pepper wings but sadly we were even further disappointed. It wasn't just their new way of charging customers but also the taste of the wings weren't as good as we once knew. The restaurant has never been appealing to the eye but on top of them nickel and diming their customers, the taste of the food is declining. I'll never...
Read moreBack in the day this place use to be the place. Now it's just withering away. Things have really changed for instance I order a 20 piece all flats with a side order of fries half Lemon pepper and other half was medium. Looks can be deceiving some were warm some were cold and hard the re fried look call the waitress over told her the issue she takes the medium which was hard and cold. The wing's come back hot fresh and tasty. I then notice I have a mix order which means drums and flats which is not what I order and was paying for. She then said I'm not going to charge you the up charge for flats, that's my fault, OK cool. I then walk to the front too pay my bill which was $30 dollars and some change and a freaking Roach was coming across the counter where I'm paying my bill. I asked the waitress is that a damn roach she said yes Ma'am. Now remind you where I'm paying the bill is at the bar. I instantly got mad and disgusted, and she over scream (peanut butter) which means or code for roaches and the flipping manager wasn't answer her until I said u don't want me to say what the problem is he better answer you. She finally got his attention he shot off to the kitchen faster than my damn wings came back. Again you Will never get my coins or anybody else that I know coins. Not my fault they cannot control their...
Read moreCame here today with my husband for the first time. I've lived in Clayton county all my life and never been here, but today we said let's give it a try. We absolutely loved it!! It's a very chilled old school type vibe and the food was sooo good! I had the chicken Philly and dry lemon pepper wings, my husband had the mesquite hot wings and it was soooo good omggg. Our server Nay was so sweet and friendly also.. we were greeted as soon as we walked in. The food is very affordable also and they have daily specials. They have $5 blue mf, house margaritas and long islands daily. We didn't get any , we got a beer instead but next time will definitely try their mixed drinks. I highly recommend coming to this place if you're looking for chilled vibes and delicious affordable food. The aesthetics on the outside had me worried a bit but don't let that stop you from going because it's a really good low key business. We definitely will be visiting again very very soon! This just maybe our new spot ! Try the chicken Philly Cheesteak 😋 it's sooo good I want another one. You won't be disappointed coming...
