Over the past couple of weeks, the Starbucks inside the Publix has noticeably gone downhill. Today, I experienced unusually poor service, even though it was a slow mid-afternoon — not during peak hours.
When I reached the register, I ordered my usual Strawberry Açaí Refresher, which I’ve ordered many times without issue. The associate seemed confused about the drink and was not particularly friendly. It felt like they did not want to be making coffee or helping customers, which is disappointing since Starbucks normally has excellent customer service.
After a longer-than-usual wait (over 10 minutes), my drink was made incorrectly. I politely told the barista that the extra 4 pumps of flavoring syrup I had ordered were missing — I had watched him make it and saw the mistake. I wasn’t asking for anything free, just for my drink to be made correctly. He acknowledged he forgot the syrup, but I felt like I was an inconvenience for asking for the correction.
Unfortunately, the remake was still incorrect and did not taste right. At that point, I left and went to another coffee shop across the street, where the service was friendly, quick, and correct.
A Starbucks visit should not take 15 minutes on a slow day, and the drinks should be made correctly the first time. This location is consistently slow, the baristas are unfriendly, and drinks are often prepared wrong. I will not be returning here...

In fact, what I get is a glass of milk with a splash of coffee and simple syrup in it. You guys are super nice and good at what you do, but when someone says light cream and sugar that's usually just what they mean, not in fact, half a gallon of milk and 10 pumps of simple syrup. And every time I think about asking you guys to remake it, I feel bad, cos you're nice and it's only coffee and usually there are 7 people in line behind me waiting on drinks and I don't want to impede anyone, but just go easy on the milk!
