China Dynasty — Restaurant in Woodstock

I was very disappointed with my recent experience at China Dynasty Restaurant. The quality of the food was not great, and it felt significantly overpriced for what was provided. I ordered a lunch takeout that cost $16 and was surprised to find it did not include soup, drink not a roll. The dish itself was supposed to include chicken, but there was hardly any chicken in it, and the food was overly greasy and lacked flavor.

The overall experience left me unsatisfied, and I do not plan to return. Additionally, the fact that there were only a couple of diners during lunchtime suggests others may feel the same. Terrible food. The egg rolls were burned on the outside and had raw dough on the inside, and the orange beef smelled and tasted off - more like wet dog food than orange beef. Service was adequate at best in the beginning, we were waved and told to sit by a window. When we complained about the food being off, we were told we would have to pay for it even if we didn’t eat it. No one felt like risking food poisoning, so we left the full dish on the table. As we were paying for food we didn’t eat, the server tried telling us to think of it their way, because they’ve never taken a meal off a ticket and they’re still there after 20 years. We went on Valentine's evening. There was a nice Asian lady literally running around. She was the only one working the dining room, phone, and cashier stand. She seated us and a party of 7 at the same time. It took her a few minutes to get to us, but once we placed our drink order, I think we had it in less than 5 minutes. Again, it took her another few minutes to take our food order, but once again, the food came out in a flash. She did a great job under the circumstances.

I think it was the best Chinese food I've ever had. We had the sizzling rice soup, spring rolls, and beef fried rice. If we lived closer, I'd absolutely make this my go-to...
