We have loved going to the Station House for years and it has always been a real treat for my family to go there with the friendly service, great food and great value. This was the first time today that we have been able to go since they moved to the new location. My kids and I were excited to see the new location which is very nice. I will take the old location any day if it means that we could get the same experience as before.
We arrived at around 2pm (they close at 3pm) and were seated immediately since the place was not busy at all. It took 4 or 5 minutes for our waiter to come and get a drink order. We ordered a water, 2 sodas and an orange juice. It took a few minutes to get the sodas and the water and he said he would be right back with the orange juice. It was well over 5 more minutes before he finally came back with the orange juice while he was messing around at the host station and walked into the back without even glancing our way. When he brought the orange juice I told him I would just take our check. He still didnt look like he was ready to take our food order after being there for over 10 minutes. He went and got the check and I paid for the 2 sodas, which was $6.82. I shouldnt have even paid for drinking a little bit of soda, but he didnt care enough to even apologize or offer to not charge us for something we barelt drank. He never asked if there was a problem and appeared to not care at all. I believe this is a relative of the owners. So sad that someone that has a vested interest in the success of a business care so little. Looks like they won't be open at their new location for long if they keep this up. I'll be sure to share my experience with all of my friends and family. If we ever go back, it will be a long time from now. There are to many other good restaurants around to put up with this as a customer.
I would caution people to not go to this restaurant but if you do and this guy is your waiter, ask to have another waiter or waitress take care of your table or plan on getting someone who...
Read moreAte here for the first time this past weekend, because I wanted to try something local and different rather then Cracker Barrel, IHOP or Waffle House. I got the Jake’s Breakfast with chocolate chips in my pancakes. I will say that there were only 4 pieces of chocolate chips in my pancakes. I debated asking for some more, but didn’t want my pancakes to cool down so I ate them. Overall, the pancakes were good; nothing special about them taste wise. Our server seemed a little flustered, not sure why. The restaurant had several open tables so the place was not busy. Nonetheless, she was very nice and brought our food out while it was still hot. I probably wouldn’t recommend this place to friends or family just because there was nothing that stood out about the restaurant to me that made it unique or special. The employees didn’t seem like they were excited to work there, so my wife and I ate and got out. Maybe it was just that day, but were weren’t really greeted in a friendly manner when we walked in. The host just asked us “how many?” and then sat us down. Typically, you would welcome your guests in by a simple “Hello, welcome in!” When we sat down, our waitress didn’t introduce herself. She just asked us what we wanted to drink and then got us our drinks. When I worked at Longhorn and Tam’s Backstage, we were trained to welcome our guests by introducing ourselves and then if we didn’t recognize them asking if it was their first time. If it was, awesome! We’d welcome them to the business and help them out a little bit with the menu while we got their drinks. If it was not their first time, then we’d thank them for dining with us again and start their order. I’m a huge stickler on customer service and truly think it can make or break a restaurant’s uniqueness. The food is good, but just work on this aspect of the customer’s...
Read moreI would give them a zero star if Icould. We went there for breakfast Saturday morning and they were not busy at the time we got seated and then 2 other parties came in. They were seated and then were waited on very quickly. They ordered and received their food before we even saw a waitress. Several waitresses walked by and no one stopped by our table. We saw waitresses talking to each other and one finally came over. She asked for our drink order then left to go get them. When she returned she took our order (there were 3 of us). We ordered and then after a while she brought my food and said that the other 2 got mixed up. I asked her was this her table and she said that the waitresses were scattered. She said she brought my food so it wouldn’t get cold and I said that I would wait for the others and she said that they hadn’t even cooked it. I requested to have the meals compensated and we would just leave. She went and talked to her manager and then came back and said the drinks and my food would be taken care and we could leave. This used to be a great place to eat. Every customer needs to treated fairly and...
