I gave this location 3 tries, and all 3 attempts have failed miserably. Like crash, burn, and then a forest fire catches it on fire again, miserable. Like when bad, gets worse or should I say, when worse, becomes THE WORST. Yeah, that's this location.
The common issue in this store, the service is TERRIBLE. 3/3 times, service took well over an hour for a 2 person table. On 2/3 occasions the food came out wrong and on 1 of those occasions the food came out wrong, twice. The last experience, which was the worst, was the final straw. Server took 15 minutes to greet the table (no problem, let's rebound). During the initial interaction with the server I ordered drinks, apps, and food (2 kids meals, 2 entrees, 1 app, 2 beers, 4 drinks). Drinks took an additional 10 minutes to get to the table (25 minutes). Another 10 minutes later (35 minutes) "Hey I'm going to check and see where your wings are." "No, you should check and see where my appetizer is, it's been 20 minutes for a cheese dip." "Oh, oh yeah, OK be right back." (no problem girl, rebound!). Cheese dip comes out shortly after, cold, followed by a 2nd coming out 10 minutes later (taken back to kitchen). Then food comes out. 2 adult tenders for a 3 and 6 year old "Uhhh, those are supposed to be kids tenders..." "Ok, let me take them back and get you a kids tender." "No, it's been 45 minutes already and my kids are hungry." Wings also come out wrong. "Let me take those 'well done' wings back and get you some new ones." "Uhhh, no? That'll take another 20-25 minutes; I will eat these." About 25 minutes later a 2nd set of wings comes to the table which were also, wrong. Water cups were empty 80% of the meal. I then voiced my concerns to the server, THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, saying in no way did I feel like it was fair I was being charged full price for such a terrible experience. Never-the-less, I paid full price and asked to speak with the manager. About ten minutes later, a rather large male casually strolls on over "Hey man, what's going on?" I explained everything above, and then some, to the manager to which he dismisses lackadaisically, and begins to justify the terrible service. I told him I didn't want any money back, and that he should take what I was telling him as a training experience since 100% of the serving staff, those that have served me at least, clearly need training. He just stared at my with a blank stare. I tossed my hands up briefly as i began to walk away and said "Wow, this is incredible. For sure the worst Taco Mac service I've every experienced. Not even a 'thanks for letting me know or something? Incredible'" "Oh, uhhhh yeah, thanks man."
Absolutely terrible service. This entire location could use some serious training. If you are not one of the terrible employees there, I'm not referring to you. However, the other 90%, get some training, get better, be better!
However, the food was good and the beer was cold.
I know what it's like to work at Taco Mac. Been there, done that. It's easy; for sure one of the easier restaurants to work in.
1 star, will not be back, will...
Read moreOn 5/16/19 at approximately 2115 hours, I came to 2275 Marketplace Blvd, Cumming, Ga 30041 (Taco Mac) with my sister in law to celebrate her college graduation.
Upon arrival, we were seated right away at a large booth. Our waitress (Felicia) came over to take our initial drink order. During the drink orders, I also ordered Nachos all the way for our appetizer and requested extra salsa on the side.
Felcia then came back with our drinks(4 waters) and took our remaining orders. We ordered the following: 20 wings(Hot/Sweet Sesame with celery + ranch dressing, Kenmore burger with sweet potatoes fries, Steak Philly with sweet potato fries.
Approximately 20-30 minutes later, a male waiter brought us our food minus the Nachos all the way. Since I am a Taco Mac regular, I was wondering where our Nachos all the way was because I ordered it as our appetizer.
I told the waiter that the Nachos all the Way never came out. We also asked for some plates in which the male waiter brought out to us.
Felicia came by to our table and stated" Do you still want the Nachos all the way?" I was like umm No. She did not apologize or offer anything else. She just walked off.
For the next 20-30 minutes, Felcia never came by to check on us to see if our food was good or if there was anything else we needed.
Since we were missing extra napkins, won't containers, and wipes. I got up myself to get more napkins, wipes, and container for our old wings.
What's super disturbing is 2 of the employees saw me get up and go to the station and said nothing. Keep in mind that this was in a slow Thursday night.
3 of our 4 cups of water were completely empty and needed refills. Still no service from our waitress. At this point, I was mad.
So after finishing all of our food, she comes and gives us the check and finally asks us if there is anything else we needed.
I then advised her what exactly happened to my Nacho appetizer. Felicia stated that she put in the order but the cook didn't see it. She finally apologized after I gave her a look.
I don't remember the last time I ever been so upset at a Taco Mac location. I am not the one that complains a lot and always leave good reviews on Yelp. This is the only and only time I have ever made an exception.
I most likely will not be back at this location. I am hoping a manager at this location reaches out to me.
Another thing, no manager came by while we were dining to see if everything was okay.
Final bill came out and she advised us that the Nachos' price was taken out. Lmao I was thinking that it was a no brainer. I wouldn't even have mentioned it. A nice apology would...
Read moreThank you Henry for saving the day. We just got finished with a hike and was a bit parched and peckish. It was a lovely evening so we asked if we could sit outside. We were informed there was a small wait of 10-15 minutes. So we decided to grab a beer from the bar. This place had a lot of beer to choose from. Highly recommended for someone who enjoys craft beer!
Our table was ready before we knew it. The host guided us to our seats and we begin to look over the menu. Quickly deciding on an appetizer so we could go ahead and get something to munch on.
Lost in conversation and browsing the menu we realized we hadn’t been greeted yet. We watched two servers clear two different tables right next to us with out acknowledging us. Patience turned into frustration when we saw a table that sat down after us already have waters and the server taking their order. We’d been seated for at least 10 minutes. So I got up and checked in with the host. I politely let her know we hadn’t been greeted and she asked what table we were at. I pointed to the table and went and sat back down. Another 5 minutes passed and I was suggesting that we probably should just get up and find somewhere else to eat. It was a matter of seconds before Henry walked out there and asked if we had been taken care of. We said no and he said he was going to assess the situation. He came back moments later and said he would take care of us and immediately took our order. Our orders weren’t complicated. I’m seasoned in the service industry and try my best to not modify anything I order. Nonetheless everything came out in a timely manner and was delicious.
A huge thank you to Henry for getting us taken care of. I hope these good words get him more than just a pat on the back.
We started with the trio dip. It’s perfect for someone who wants cheese but also loves the guac. For dinner I went for the steak tacos with a side of the Brussels sprouts and I also ordered the spicy black berry margarita. The tacos were so flavorful and I really liked that they came with salsa verda and roja. The black berry margarita hit the spot! So refreshing. It had a sweet spot that ended with a small spice from the jalapeño. The main event though were the Brussel sprouts! I could have just eaten them for dinner. So good. Crispy with a honey drizzle!
This could have been a very unfortunate experience and I could have missed out on some really good food. Due to Henry’s awareness though we had a great time and I will...
