I recently ate takeout from this restaurant on back to back days. The first day I did not check my food or receipt before getting home. Upon arriving home I realized that the chicken nachos I had order hardly had any cheese on them or in the container. I also found that when I requested to change the red sauce on an order of enchiladas for cheese sauce I was charged $3 extra. I probably don't have to explain how ridiculous that is to anybody. This obviously made me mad about my service and the cost but the following night I had family over and they wanted Mexican. Well this of course is the closest Mexican restaurant. We placed two separate orders on two separate phone calls to the restaurant. This time on the phone call I explained that I just ate their and didn't hardly get any cheese and wanted to make sure there was cheese this time. Well they acted on the phone as if it wouldn't be a problem. Well no surprise at all but when I arrived to pick up the order this time I checked my nachos. Again no cheese! This time I confronted them about my order and they added some cheese. Well in the confusion of me getting my order fixed I forgot to check the other family members nachos. When I arrived home they opened their nachos and again no cheese. You could literally see the foil bottom of the container in a plate of nachos that was shining silver due to the lack of cheese. The moral of this story is this restaurant is overpriced and completely stingy with their cheese and salsa. When you order a plate of chicken nachos you expect very simply a container with chips, chicken and covered in cheese. It is simple but they cannot seem to get it right. Then as I just mentioned about the salsa, has anyone ever even heard of a Mexican restaurant not providing chips and salsa with a meal for free. This place charges for chips and salsa to come with your meal. Well on our second night of ordering we actually paid for a large salsa. The salsa we received came in a small container just like every other Mexican restaurant I've been to gives you multiples of for free. I would also note the first night I spent $40 and the second night me and my family combined spent $120. No free salsa are you kidding me. This place is ridiculous and it clearly needs some competition to come in and show it up. Don't eat here unless you wanna be overcharged and not receive the proper amount of food...
Read moreI just visited this restaurant to grab a pitcher of margaritas with a friend. The hostess was very nice. Our server seemed to be around 17-18 years old. It seemed like English was her second language. We received the pitcher. I ordered the Texas, because I didn’t want well brand. The margaritas were by and large the worst I’ve ever been served. After pouring 2 glasses out of it, I just asked if they could add some mixer, because it was way too heavy on the alcohol. She did not seem to understand. She called upon another server. They spoke in Spanish to each other. Took the pitcher back, brought it back out, and it was the same as the original. As we sat and tried to finish our drinks, a red roach crawled across my friend’s shoulder from one side to the other side. I informed him about the roach on his shoulder. He laughed. I said no, I’m serious. The other accompanying server witnessed him slapping the roach, and hitting it on the seat. She asked what was wrong, and he said there’s a roach on me. They did not care. Got my bill. $40 for the pitcher. I asked what she had charged me for, and again; she didn’t quite understand, and had to call the other girl over for some sort of translation. The manager dropped the price down to what I initially ordered. By and large, probably my worst dining experience. Wish I had waited to take a picture of the roach crawling on my friend. But who has time? It’s like, dude, there is a roach on your shoulder. Manager never came to talk to us. I still tipped well....
Read moreHot tasty Mexican fare. Muy bien! Okay that's all the Spanish I know. However this place is very good.
A navigation note is that the building has a sign for a different business at the very top and the La Parrilla name is down lower. The name blends into the brick and it's a little hard to see but it's the first building on the left.
It's the traditional amerimex Mexican food we've come to expect. Seasoned ground beef with the salsa and red sauce on top. Beans with melted cheese and hot rice. Excellent taco by the way.
The interior is comfortable and a great place for a family dinner or to meet a group of friends. They have a lot of booths and lots of wood! There is also an outside dining area with picnic table- like seating.
Our service was excellent and the friendly young lady kept bringing us refills and checking on us. Very helpful without being overbearing.
This is a great place for consistently good Mexican food and a welcoming environment.
There is a parking lot next to the building and parking along the front edge...
