This was an extremely disappointing night. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that it was a bad night, but it began to feel like a chain of service problems. The hostess put the wrong amount of people in the party turning a 30 minute wait into an hour long. Since she didn't reenter me in the system I had to go and remind her I existed. I had to ask if I could use a table that had been empty for over 10 minutes, which she cleaned partially and then left it unfinished which was a further wait. This should have been our warning sign, but then received a second one when our neighboring table made a joke about waiting 45 minutes to get the check from the waiter. It was true as we were largely forgotten. I ended up making a bet with my table about how long it would take for them to do basics of the job such as remember orders and drinks. I constantly felt like I had to remind staff members I was there. I timed how long a drink request took. Our waiter had trouble giving solid recommendations and didn't know what the blue boxes on the menu meant so maybe he was new. I heard a neighboring waitress spout of recommendations and saw her be attentive, which actually made me a bit jealous. Having worked all manner of bar nights I understand being slammed or short staffed, but there are limits. I will say my food was good so props to the cooks, which is why I feel it deserves at least more than a 1 star but its not worth 2+hour waits due to hostess/waiting staff. The crazy part is it didn't seem as busy for the second hour of our time there. Also as an ending what kind of waiter stands over someone while they sign and do the tip? Maybe be more attentive to your guest rather than stand over them. I guess it worked as I just wanted to get out of there so I pushed to tip. If the waiter is gonna be a creep about that I'll pay a bite more to avoid an altercation to get home...

Father's Day and a conference in town made for an hour plus wait for a party of seven. Luckily there were a few benches outside to sit on, as well as, shops to explore. We had children with us and had traveled most of the day so were exhausted by the time we were seated. A family that had waited outside with us, but been seated 15 minutes ahead of us were just getting their drinks. An ominous sign. Every server was loaded and the place was packed. We got drinks pretty quickly and ordered a few appetizers to get things moving. Our appetizers came fairly quickly. Luckiky we had baskets of fries because none of the kids ate their meals. The boneless wings were overcooked and dry, and the loaded potato soup was more like mashed potatoes. See photos for how thick and cheesy it was. While the adults thought it looked good, the kids wouldn't eat it. I ordered the blue cheese burger medium and while it looked delicious, one bite and it was so dry. Our server was great and returned it to the kitchen and had them make a new one. Burger #2 comes out and it's rare. Literally oozing blood when cut into. Our server took it back and had them refire it. Once it came out a third time it was perfect and delicious. The bacon mixed with crispy fried onions and blue cheese was amazing. Unfortunately my whole party had finished eating, paid, and were ready to leave. Despite asking to pay for the burger, our server insisted he remove it from my bill. Left him a solid tip for his efforts and service. He was friendly and had a great attitude. He even recommended an off island spot for breakfast, which we tried and loved! He gets 5 stars. We were one of the last tables sat at the end of the night and we really feel (and hope) this was a one off experience given the day, crowd, and time. We would definitely them a second chance and I would definitely prder the...

Wee Pub Beach on Jekyll Island has long been my favorite restaurant, a status it has held in my heart for many years. This charming establishment, with its inviting atmosphere and consistent excellence, offers more than just a meal; it provides a memorable dining experience.

One of the most delightful aspects of Wee Pub Beach is their occasional live music. The ambiance created by these performances adds a unique and lively touch to the dining experience. It's the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening, whether you're looking to enjoy a casual meal or celebrate a special occasion.

Recently, the restaurant has begun to highlight specials, showcasing the culinary creativity and versatility of their kitchen. These specials are not only delicious but also add an element of surprise and anticipation to each visit. It's always exciting to see what new flavors and dishes they have in store.

As a regular, I've always been impressed by the exceptional service at Wee Pub Beach. In particular, Emma and Miranda stand out for their outstanding customer service. They are attentive, friendly, and genuinely contribute to making each visit special. Their professionalism and warmth ensure that every dining experience is enjoyable and comfortable.

In conclusion, Wee Pub Beach is more than just my go-to restaurant on Jekyll Island; it's a place that holds countless fond memories. The combination of great food, live music, exciting specials, and exceptional service, particularly from staff members like Emma and Miranda, makes it a standout establishment. Whether you're a local or just passing through, a visit to Wee Pub Beach is an...

This little pub on Jekyll Island is a decent place to eat. The atmosphere is very much a bar/pub so is dimly lit compared to a lot of other establishments. The food was good. The cottage pie was really good, the Philly fries were as well. The fish and chips was pretty standard fare. The Philly sandwich was largely bread though. I had the cup of chili as a side and while it was good, it wasn't what I expected of chili. The flavor was different than any chili I've had before and while not bad, when you are expecting chili it left me wanting a little. The waiter was outstanding and while busy, he checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed. When taking our order he made sure to verify what we were ordering, especially when my wife ordered the Philly fries and I ordered the Philly sandwich. He was sure to clarify the one was NOT a sandwich and one was. He also asked if we were OK with the grilled onions on the entrees (which we were, of course. Can you even have a Philly anything without grilled onions???) The vodka dirty martinis were good and they didn't skimp on the size like a lot of places do. The prices were a little high for what it was, but that was expected given that they are in the heart of a tourist beach center. Four entrees and two martinis was $100 before tip. Not terrible for a small town tourist area.

First time eating here on our beach trip & we had to take it for what it is, a good bar food restaurant. For some reason today (Monday), several restaurants were closed for supper so we chose this place. I had the Fish Tacos with fries, the wife had the half Turkey melt w/ salad, & the child had the half Philly Cheesesteak w/ Loaded Baked Potato soup. The Fish Tacos were VERY flavorful with their type of sauce. The Turkey melt was a typical melt, nothing that was extra special, & the salad was very fresh. The Philly Cheesesteak was flavorful with their beer cheese & the soup was also VERY flavorful. The portions for the prices were good, too. Our waitress was really nice & helpful. The only reason we're docking the 1 star is this type of restaurant seems out of place in an oceanfront setting & doesn't really have any legit seafood choices that we come to the beach for; however, we would eat there again for a change of pace from seafood.
