This was an extremely disappointing night. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that it was a bad night, but it began to feel like a chain of service problems. The hostess put the wrong amount of people in the party turning a 30 minute wait into an hour long. Since she didn't reenter me in the system I had to go and remind her I existed. I had to ask if I could use a table that had been empty for over 10 minutes, which she cleaned partially and then left it unfinished which was a further wait. This should have been our warning sign, but then received a second one when our neighboring table made a joke about waiting 45 minutes to get the check from the waiter. It was true as we were largely forgotten. I ended up making a bet with my table about how long it would take for them to do basics of the job such as remember orders and drinks. I constantly felt like I had to remind staff members I was there. I timed how long a drink request took. Our waiter had trouble giving solid recommendations and didn't know what the blue boxes on the menu meant so maybe he was new. I heard a neighboring waitress spout of recommendations and saw her be attentive, which actually made me a bit jealous. Having worked all manner of bar nights I understand being slammed or short staffed, but there are limits. I will say my food was good so props to the cooks, which is why I feel it deserves at least more than a 1 star but its not worth 2+hour waits due to hostess/waiting staff. The crazy part is it didn't seem as busy for the second hour of our time there. Also as an ending what kind of waiter stands over someone while they sign and do the tip? Maybe be more attentive to your guest rather than stand over them. I guess it worked as I just wanted to get out of there so I pushed to tip. If the waiter is gonna be a creep about that I'll pay a bite more to avoid an altercation to get home...
Read moreFather's Day and a conference in town made for an hour plus wait for a party of seven. Luckily there were a few benches outside to sit on, as well as, shops to explore. We had children with us and had traveled most of the day so were exhausted by the time we were seated. A family that had waited outside with us, but been seated 15 minutes ahead of us were just getting their drinks. An ominous sign. Every server was loaded and the place was packed. We got drinks pretty quickly and ordered a few appetizers to get things moving. Our appetizers came fairly quickly. Luckiky we had baskets of fries because none of the kids ate their meals. The boneless wings were overcooked and dry, and the loaded potato soup was more like mashed potatoes. See photos for how thick and cheesy it was. While the adults thought it looked good, the kids wouldn't eat it. I ordered the blue cheese burger medium and while it looked delicious, one bite and it was so dry. Our server was great and returned it to the kitchen and had them make a new one. Burger #2 comes out and it's rare. Literally oozing blood when cut into. Our server took it back and had them refire it. Once it came out a third time it was perfect and delicious. The bacon mixed with crispy fried onions and blue cheese was amazing. Unfortunately my whole party had finished eating, paid, and were ready to leave. Despite asking to pay for the burger, our server insisted he remove it from my bill. Left him a solid tip for his efforts and service. He was friendly and had a great attitude. He even recommended an off island spot for breakfast, which we tried and loved! He gets 5 stars. We were one of the last tables sat at the end of the night and we really feel (and hope) this was a one off experience given the day, crowd, and time. We would definitely them a second chance and I would definitely prder the...
