My name is Gregory Cato, a Former Wendy's crew Member, And I have quit from this job. I was balancing two positions at once; grill, and closing down the store by myself. Tay was working one position, which was the sandwich station. The person positioned on sandwich station is supposed to call out when the meat on the grill is starting to get low, so the grill worker can drop more meat. I was simultaneously closing down the store because we were understaffed that night. Tay was lacking in communication, and not calling out when meat was getting low, so in result the meat ran out. Brenda Baylock was the acting manager for the shift, and began yelling, and complaining that the meat ran out. I tried to explain that I was trying to do both, but I wasn't aware we were out of meat, because Tay didn't inform. She would not let me explain my side of things, but instead claimed Tay was the hardest working person in the crew. Tay overhearing this, began to slander the other crew members, and claim he was the best person in the crew. I returned to my position, but stated that my fellow crew member Naomi and I were working double positions to help move things along, while Tay was barely balancing sandwich position. He was on his phone and not moving orders out fast enough, while continuing to slander the crew members. Eventually Naomi had enough of Tay's disrespect, and Brenda's defending him; so she clocked out. After Naomi clocked out, Tay continued to insult and slander me with slurs, and crude harmful language. I informed Brenda that I would clock out too, if this behavior continued. I was just trying to do my job, and I was being verbally attacked. It made me uncomfortable, and created a hostile work environment. Tay overhearing this, began to get in my face, calling me rude names, and taunted me asking what I was going to do about it. Brenda came over, and pulled him out of my face, and told him to get back on position. I tried to return to my position, but when he continued to insult me, I told him not to talk to me the way that he was. We are part of the same crew, and I was his equal. He got in my face once again, taunting me, asking what I was gonna do about it. Said “What the f**k are you gonna do, Cato?” Brenda pulled him away once more, and he returned to his position. I had finally had enough. I left the counter to get my personal belongings, and went back to the counter to clock out. I asked Brenda to help me clock out, but the terminal was having technical difficulties. He continued to yell insults at me from behind the sandwich station, and when I’d had enough of this, I finally said something back to him. He left his position and got in my face for the third, and final time. While he was in my face, he briefly stepped back, and threw a punch right to my face. I fell backwards, and collided with the wall behind me. Brenda ran from the position she was at, and began trying to help me up. I was so confused, that I couldn’t get up. She left me to run and close the store. When I had finally come to my senses, Brenda had began dragging me by the hand away from Tay, who stood over me continuing to threaten me, and threatened to also punch my fellow crew member Naomi. I was completely confused, and dazed. I didn’t realize what had happened, until I felt and saw that I was bleeding from my mouth. When I finally came to my senses, I stood up, and shouted “I quit”. I grabbed my belongings, clocked out, and began to call Ashley Jeans who is the General Manager of the Wendy’s location. I told Ashley if Tay wasn’t fired, then I was quitting that night. While I was on the phone with Ashley, one of the Wendy’s customers who saw the incident, called the police. I filed a report with the police when they arrived. Naomi, Brenda, and the gentleman who called the police all filed witness reports. After that, my lady drove from her house to pick me up and...
Read moreUPDATE (4/7/24) We gave this location one more shot today. Nope. I wish we had not done so. Whoever is running this location apparently doesn’t care one single bit about the reviews left here on Google. Two of my original photos have either been blocked or removed (they’re not visible anymore), the service was horrendous again today, and not a single worker seems to care about their job or their customers. Today, it sounded like we were eating in an ICU. The beeping was CONSTANT and steady (from it being ignored for upwards of 5-7 minutes at a time). The place is filthy, the bathroom is disgusting, and the Freestyle drink machine NEVER has diet drinks that work properly. We will not be returning here again. I’d rather throw my $30 out the window than deal with the issues here. I’m not joking. Someone please turn this place around.
Original Review: I’m beyond sick of poor customer service. We’re not a picky family, but almost everywhere we go lately has poor/unacceptable customer service. At this Wendy’s today, we were forced to order from the one kiosk (out of three) that was working. None of the employees had any interest in helping at the counter, so we used the kiosk. The sensor on the kiosk isn’t accurate, so I was forced to touch all around the selection to get it to work. Once I had my cart loaded, there was NO OPTION to add my Wendy’s reward for $3 off my purchase. When I scanned the QR code, it sent me to the payment screen each time. Ugh! On top of these issues, the Coca-Cola Free Style was out of flavoring on EVERY SINGLE DIET DRINK. Every one of them was pure carbonated water. We addressed the issue with a worker, and she said she was aware of it. She had to fix our drinks at the drive-thru instead (Diet Coke only). Did you catch that? She was aware of it, and nothing was done to fix the issue. I’m pretty sure she also threw in an eye roll when we asked if she could help us with our drinks. This is getting ridiculous. I miss the old America, and I miss good quality customer service … when I felt valued by the establishment I was shopping with.
I tried to contact Wendy’s to notify them, but the chat timed out three times. THREE! I have no desire to call and wait 45 minutes to talk about this, so here’s my Google review.
ALSO, I just tried to use the men’s restroom. The door handle is broken, and you can’t even open the door. See the pic for reference. Yikes. We won’t be back here...
Read moreCustomer service is very important the shift leader with the red & black braids with an outside coat on while around customers FOOD is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The young at the window was very nice all I order was a frosty that was never rung up and it took 20 minutes to get it I asked for a receipt. And she started yelling and take out her cell phone saying she about to call Tiffany. The young lady name is KIMORA she had the other young working under her name I’m assuming. And I watched her take the largest cup and make 3 frosty and I asked was that mine she said “NO” that’s the car that pulled then I get a cup wayyy smaller and not even filled up and I ordered a LARGE. Her attitude is not made for fast food and let’s talk about the guy coming to the window talking about he was supposed to be going home and he still there. Also a guy came in a lil before 12 went straight to the kitchen area. They were veerryyy disorganized. All the workers in the front that’s why they couldn’t get food out in a timely manner. Also I told the shift leader when she kept saying that the young lady is new I told her “ she be helping her instead of in her phone and not running her shift” and the shift leader told me “ I could take a picture of the screen if I wanted my receipt “ &if you ask me all of them that were on the clock at 04/26/24 at 12:18 am needs to be FIRED EXCEPT THE NEW YOUNG LADY SHE WAS VERY SWEET I FELT BAD FOR HER. They need a class on customer SERVICE I wish I could give...
