This establishment needs front of the house help. There were people who came in after us, who received their food before us. There was only 2 in my party. The couple behind us ordered their food, received it, ate it and departed the restaurant before our food ever arrived at our table. A gentleman that came in approximately 30 minutes after us was enjoying his food and reading the paper before our food ever hit the table. Our waitress Ezra Mae is not the server you want. She messed up our cappuccino by adding cold milk to it and it arrived cold. She disappeared during our wait for about 15 mins. We had no idea where she was and didn't have any updates. The host that seated us even came to the table and asked if we've received our food yet. When our food arrived it was cold. She asked if we wanted her to put it in the microwave, just like they did our cappuccino. We said no. Bring us the check and we'll pay for the cappuccinos. The manager comes over and states that they had a large group that came in and put them behind. How does the group, which was about 10-12 people put you behind for an hour? You had servers up against the wall in a corner chit chatting. Meanwhile the waiter with the group is taking plates by himself. Why aren't the other waitresses helping him take food to the group? Also most of the waitresses have no sense of urgency. Our food was sitting in the window for well over 20 minutes while our waitress was taking glasses out of a crate. She also was doing other odd jobs and her guests are wondering why isn't she checking on our food. The food looked good when it came out. Unfortunately I couldn't tell if it was good because I'm not eating cold eggs. The manager left the window area where waiters pick up the food, to take a call on his cellphone. When he returned, he began to grab plates to take to the customers. He didn't wash his hands before handling the customers plates. To add, the young lady in the back of the house running the kitchen window area to send food out, decided to talk on her cellphone while prepping food/plates. This restaurant needs some help. You would think for our inconvenience, the manager would have paid for our cappuccino. But he didn't even offer. This restaurant...
ย ย ย Read moreMy wife and I decided to try this place today since we were close by and saw an overwhelming amount of good reviews, but it seems like we must have come at an off time or something. To start, I will say the restaurant is incredibly clean. It looks pristine in there. That's all the positive feedback I have. When we walked in there was (I'm assuming) a manager at the front desk chatting with an applicant for 3 minutes while we stood there. He then stops talking to him and brings us to our table. The table right next to where another manager would be having interviews through our entire meal. Next up, we meet Suzanne who gets our drink orders, asks us we have questions, we ask about the seasonal flavor of the croissant biscuits, she tells us, and walks away as we try to order them so she can sit down and eat near us. Several minutes later she comes back with our drinks, takes our order where my wife tried to order the apple crumble pancakes and was cut off midway through her sentence by Suzanne and told they were out. She then ordered the creme brulee French toast and was cut off again when she was trying to say she wanted turkey sausage only to be asked "bacon or sausage?" and that's the last we see of Suzanne until roughly 55 minutes later when it's time to pay. A different server brought us our biscuits which were okay, not much flavor to them without the powdered sugar and 1 line of caramel on each. We wait 5 minutes to eat those because we have to get someone else's attention to let them know we never got silverware. Our food comes out and to our surprise, there's no brulee that took place on the French toast. It's just a mountain of cold, unseasoned, unspreadable custard. We ate what we could and might have eaten more if we ever got Suzanne to come back around and ask how everything was or even if we could get a refill on our drinks, but that didn't happen. So instead we just sat and waited for nearly 30 minutes to get our check and leave. Maybe we can at a bad time, but 8:00 am on a Wednesday doesn't seem like an impractical time...
ย ย ย Read moreUnfortunately this past Saturday morning was a disaster, our party of 4 arrived at 10:00am, we placed our order at 10:15am and still did not have food on the table at 11:30am. After not receiving our food in a reasonable period of time our server became non-existent. It was obvious as to the chaos amongst the staff since it is such a tight squeeze for the staff between the sit down bar and the front of the line where the food comes out, not a well designed layout for the staff. Not sure if it was a staffing issue in the kitchen or a training/staffing issue but either way the restaurant did not know how to address the situation, totally unprepared. Managers were walking around apologizing however I believe they would have been better served if they could have pitched in to help out the kitchen in some way. Actions speak louder than words, they could have rolled up their sleeves and helped out, that would have made a difference. They certainly need to learn from this experience as the saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression. It would certainly be in their best interest to go out on social media and apologize for the circumstances Saturday morning. A lot of competition in the breakfast market in Germantown and they need to get that issue addressed immediately if they expect to prosper. This was beyond disappointing and frustrating......ownership needs to pay attention to this if they want to...
