I ordered the Metallica Roll, the Cyndi Lauper Roll, and the Rolling Stones Roll (specifically because I love cream cheese in my sushi). I was really excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. I must've come at a bad time or something, because this sushi was pretty disappointing. I ordered pickup at around 7:30 pm on a Monday night. The Cyndi Lauper and Rolling Stones rolls were $13.95 each, and the Metallica Roll was $10.95. These prices are a little steep for common sushi ingredients, but, again: the reviews were raving how good this sushi was, so I was willing to blow almost $45 on sushi. The rolls were very underwhelming. The rice was underseasoned, and the rolls that are *supposed* to have cream cheese in them barely had a smear in both of them! I'm paying $14 for a roll, so imagine my disappointment when I barely had any (and on some pieces, zero) cream cheese on them (see pictures). According to their menu, the Cyndi Lauper Roll is supposed to have shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, and cream cheese on the inside. Mine had krab instead of shrimp tempura, and a tiny smidge of cream cheese (see pictures). Not to mention on their website, their delivery service is through Bite Squad, in which all their prices are more expensive by a good $3-4. I notified an employee who worked there of the mistake, and he thanked me for bringing it to their attention, but said he had no power over whatever Bite Squad was listing their prices as. So, you're okay with overcharging your customers...? Maybe I misunderstood his intentions. But overall, the rolls weren't very good, and I'm just hoping I came in on a bad night, because this is definitely not the best sushi in Memphis. I would've returned the rolls had I not already been all the way home until I ate them :(

I've been going to Rock and Roll Sushi in Germantown ever since it opened. When it first opened the food was great and the atmosphere was fun. Over time the food quality became subpar and the service was awful. My family and I stopped going because of this and took it off our normal rotation. A few months ago the ownership changed hands and it was under new management so I decided to give it a try again. I started by going and sitting at the bar after work for a few drinks and small dinners with friends. The food was much improved and the service was fantastic. So, I started going more often again. But then about a month ago the food quality started to take a turn. I thought it might be a fluke so I kept going. Then I noticed they new ownership went up on the price of all their drinks. So I stopped going to the bar after work. The last straw as tonight when I ordered takeout dinner for my family. The total of the order was right at $50 for pickup. My wife picked up our dinner on her way home and when she got home we found a $16 sushi roll that had been poorly constructed and was basically destroyed. A side salad with BROWN lettuce. A chicken hibachi with tasteless chicken and the veggies were not even cooked. They were basically raw. And last some overcooked edamame that was tasteless. I've attached pictures of all this. This dinner wasn't worth $5 much less the $50 we paid. This will be my last trip to Rock and Roll Sushi in Germantown because there are just too many other options that actually give you good food for the money. I doubt this location will last much longer.

We didn't know what to expect but were delighted with our meal, some of it excellent and some of it good. We ordered way too much food as it was our first visit and we wanted a variety to see what we liked. Our next visit will be sushi only as the spicy tuna roll was the best I have tasted and it was a generous serving of tuna will minimal sauce on top, which I really appreciate as the heavy sauces are one reason I avoid sushi. The husband and I shared an ahi appetizer that was just okay but we enjoyed the hot edamame and the shrimp appetizer. Making a safe choice, we each ordered a hibachi dinner, mine with shrimp and his with chicken and shrimp. Let's just say I had two more meals with the leftovers that held up well with reheating. Local beers on tap, always earning an extra star. Service was courteous and professional.

This was absolutely the WORST food, WORST customer service, WORST quality control and biggest WASTE of money! Rock N Roll Sushi in Germantown has steadily gone downhill!!! Our online order was terrible and when I called to explain what was wrong, I was told that I would have to drive all the way back there with the food in order for them to refund the order. No restaurant EVER expects that of their customers and neither should you Rock N Roll! Our crab rangoon was soggy, undercooked, lukewarm and had no dipping sauce. Our fried rice was a ball of mush, as if it had been cooked with too much water. The only edible part of our order were the two sushi rolls, but even those had overcooked tempura shrimp in them. There was no manager working for me to talk to, so I spoke to the hostess and she didn't say a single word to me after hello. After awkward silence she put a chef on the phone which I thought would be ok since he was the one who cooked the mess. He is the one who told me I would have to drive 20 minutes back to the restaurant for a refund. I told him how ridiculous that was and he said, "Well you took the food home. We need it back if you want a refund." Never once did the hostess or chef say, "I'm sorry your order wasn't correct. I'm sorry we forgot to give you dipping sauce and that everything wasn't warm. I'm sorry you weren't completely satisfied with your meal. How can we make this right?" Any one of those comments would have been appropriate, but to be told rudely that because I took the food from their restaurant, I would have to drive back there with it?????? Ridiculous! ...
