I have consistently had a great eating experience, dining in the restaurant. They serve a variety of Asian style foods (Chinese, Cantonese, Thai, and I think Vietnamese). As such, you have to specify which kind of fried rice you want if you should order that dish.
I usually get their Pad Thai noodles, although I've tried several of their other dishes. All of them were prepared with great attention to taste. Honestly, I haven't had a bad meal there.
The service is usually excellent and always quite attentive, although I have on rare occasion had a server who had some trouble with the language (hence the slightly lower mark). Occasionally, the cook will greet customers when he has a chance to get out of the kitchen, and always has a warm smile (as does the primary waitress that works there, who speaks very good English).
You should time your visit to off-hours, to avoid waits for meals. They can do a lot of carry-out orders, which can impact how quickly they can attend to you, but I have never had a terribly long wait.
I generally avoid their carry-out, as I prefer to eat in the restaurant. I've had their take-out a few times, but preferred the taste of the food while eating within the restaurant. They perhaps prepare the food a little differently for carry-out.
As Asian-style restaurants go, I prefer this one to any others in the...
Read morePLEASE READ!! The food quality and service at Mr. K's has gone DOWN hill. They are always getting orders wrong, skipping items in orders, etc. I've seen people bring food back. Last night I picked-up an order of SHRIMP and Roast Pork LoMein. I noticed that the cashier was sure to staple my bag of food shut. First of all, it appeared that my food container had been already opened and the LoMein (old and soggy) had been stirred around (the food wasn't tightly packed in the container like usual). Secondly, I discovered that there was ONLY 1 whole Shrimp and two partial cut up pieces of shrimp in the entire container!! When I called to report this, the lady argued with me and said that the cook had put 10 shrimps in my dish and that the shrimp must be on the bottom. LOL She just lied and choose to argue with an unsatisfied customer. SMH Third, I asked for extra bean sprouts and green onions, they charged me $3.00 for it and didn't include any extra in my order. Finally, today I woke-up with a fever and a sore throat, and went to urgent care. I contracted strep throat. The place I went to and the only food I ate yesterday cam from Mr. K's. Mr. K's (Krooks) over charged me $24.00 for Used/RESOLD FOOD that literally made me SICK. ...
Read moreI have visited this place a few times over the last few months because I work minutes away. I stopped going for a while because the food quality was average at best, but the worst part is the time it takes to get your food. I have never ordered food and had it ready even close to when they say it will be ready. Tonight, I ordered my food at 5:55 and was told it would be 20 minutes. I was finally handed my food at 6:45. I work retail so I completely understand when things get busy and things take longer than anticipated. If this were the first time, or even the second time, I would not be writing a review about it, but this is what my experience has been every time I have ordered food. Not only did I have to wait more than double the time I was told but half my order was room temperature when I started eating it within 5 minutes of it being handed to me. I keep telling myself I wont go back but when you want Chinese food and it's right there, I make the same mistake and give them another chance to disappoint me. Don't waste your time or money, mostly your...
