Cogburn's Big Wings — Restaurant in Gilbert

My friend Ryan goes to Cogburns from time to time because he likes the food and atmosphere of the place. Its a themed Bar & Grill and a Sports bar done right. The service was excellent 👍, Our Server was a terrific 👍 professional who was perfectly attentive without intrusion or being a bother. We were there for the Tall size mugs of beer, and the chicken wings which were the days special. I admit right away that I am a Chicken Wing Afficianado and will compare Wings to the one's back in The Buffalo NY Region. So I almost always order some done Original style to judge Wings. "Properly"cooked Wings are fried until the skin stays crispy even after they are sauced with Buffalo Wing 🍗 sauce. My order & Ryan's were done 👍✅ to perfection. I also tried the Raspberry Chipotle Wings which were quite good. We chose to sit in a booth where this side of the place had fewer people, but that's just us, the other side was lightly crowded but not too much. It was the the perfect spot to spend Cinco de Mayo 2022, especially since I didn't go out last year. Had such a great time out there with my friend that I was shocked how fast Midnight came along. I will definitely be going back to Cogburns, and you will too if you like a Sports bar done well. Oh, yeah, and the restrooms were nice 👍 and not run down like some Bar based restaurants. Sad to say we have tried Cogburn's 3 times now and each time has got even worse then the previous. This last time will be the very last time we even try. We showed up on a Friday night and most tables were open. We thought ok we should get our food pretty fast. Ummmmmmm Wrong. There were 3 other tables that sat after we had ordered our food. Probably 10 minutes after non the less. We had got through our first beers and onion rings and hoped for a 2nd beer. Yeah that didn't happen either. At least 40 minutes had passed at this time and the other 3 tables that sat after us had all received their food. With no sight of our waitress I had to wave down the hostess and ask her to please check on our food. She come back saying sorry your waitress will be right over. After about 5 more minutes the waitress comes back and says our food was never made and no order was put in. WTF???? So she put our order in, and still no 2nd beers either. Finally after another 30 minutes we received our food. By this point we were done so we boxed it up and got ready to leave. At our surprise we still received a bill for $30. That's right just a damn discount. Why didn't we receive a free meal after waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes? What a horrible experience. We paid it and left....

We've been here before and it was okay but we went this last weekend and it wasn't busy at all...we watched tables fill in around us, got our appetizer, but no wings...and watched as tables around us got their orders before us even though they were seated after us. Happened again and again and again...We ordered beers, onion rings (to start) and a couple of orders of wings...pretty simple. We flagged down a waitress other than ours to ask about our wing order and our waitress finally came back to table and told us the kitchen forgot about our (wing) order after we got appetizer, so...it was not the greatest experience. Our waitress comped is for our wings, which was nice of her, as it wasn't her fault kitchen forgot, but we also weren't impressed by establishment in general (with "forgotten" order) and not cleanest restaurant, and food is okay, wing sauce is so-so. In the future, this place will not be our first choice, especially...
