Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Gilbert

First off - I have been drinking Dutch Bros coffee for a while now and absolutely love their coffee...at all their locations I've been to...EXCEPT this one. I came here on 6/2/2018. Also, I'll add, I dislike Starbucks coffee for the most part - I have to be in dire circumstances to get a hot coffee at Starbucks.

Back to Dutch Bros. I usually order a hot Americano. Simple and hard to screw up. Or so I thought. I decided to try this location out since it's closer to my house (the location I usually go to is close to work - never been disappointed at that one). The service here was friendly, same as all their locations, which is great, but not the reason I come to Dutch Bros. I come here for the good tasting coffee.

I ordered my usual - large hot Americano. I'm not sure if they somehow got the order mixed up and gave me drip coffee from a batch of beans that was left out for a few days, but this did NOT taste like an Americano. It didn't even taste like Dutch Bros' usual drip coffee. It tasted like the stale drip coffee you get at a car service repair shop's waiting room. In fact...I might have preferred that over this. It tasted stale, watered down, and intensely acidic. I tried very hard to overcome it but after getting through about 1/4 of the cup I decided it wasn't worth it and tossed it. I went to Starbucks (remember the "dire circumstances" scenario I described?) and ordered an Americano. The fact that Starbucks' coffee felt like a relief to my palette says way too much about the quality of coffee I got that day at this Dutch Bros location.

I plan to try the coffee at this location again in a few weeks in the hopes that maybe they were just having an off-day or hopefully have been brought up to speed with their other locations. Based on my next experience I will update...

Okay I never do reviews. But the employees at all the Dutch Bros are crazy wonderful. At every one of the Dutch Bros I've been too ( and I been to a lot like 15 different ones) the employees are great and friendly and have outgoing personalities. Not one person there makes you feel unimportant or a bother.

Last night my son and I stopped at this Dutch bros to order our favorite drink Pitcher Perfect double blended. Earlier that evening we have been told some alarming news, and some how one of the employee named Gabe just knew something was wrong and told us everything was gonna be ok and to stay strong and we're here for you if you ever need to just talk. He said we're not just only a coffee shop we are also ppl here who care and if you need someone to talk to we're here to listen anytime. As we were moving up in the line, Gabe said these drinks where on him. He said it's a small jester and one he was happy to do. Little does he know it was bigger than he thought and touched our hearts in a time that was most needed. Then when we got to the window to get our drinks, he had written some encouragement on our cups, your strong and we're here for you. This was absolutely amazing. My son and I actual had tears running down our checks. The service and ALL the employees are great but GABE is beyond amazing!!! We went there today and he remembered us and our order. And there was a message on my cup again but this time he wrote, " you are loved! "

I hope the supervisor see this and recognizes Gabe for going above and beyond just CUSTOMER service, he's an amazing person that cares and is compassionate

We wanted to try the new Dutch bros location Saturday afternoon, I've been coming to Dutch bros for years and I've always had great service. I thought their drive-through set up was an excellent idea but boy was I wrong, it’s a trap!! we waited over 40 minutes for our drinks and when we got to the window all of the employees were acting casual, nonchalant having conversation about their Friday night. They didn't even apologize for the wait(like they usually do after waiting 10 minutes at ANY other location along with a lot of extra stamps for a freebie next time), given we had ordered them a half hour ago, they had no idea that there were over 45 people in line waiting for their drinks and there were probably only 5 employees making drinks while the others just stood around !!! After expressing to them how we felt about the wait time and what we thought about them just standing around talking, the young brunette girl at the window had the audacity to tell us”bye!Have a nice day !! " in a condescending tone. I politely replied with a sincere thank you, we'll never come back again!! Not worth the wait for a drink that wasn’t...
