Poor customer experience — honesty matters
I came to the Starbucks at 3610 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, AZ this morning for my usual shaken espresso with light ice and extra oat milk — something I always order at other Starbucks with no problem. The barista told me they “aren’t allowed” to make it that way because of ratios, but then said, “I’ll do it this time and let the team know.”
When I got my drink, it was full of ice to the top and barely had any coffee or milk. I went back to ask, and the same barista told me again they couldn’t do it — even though he had just said he would.
It’s not about the drink — it’s about being straightforward with customers. If something can’t be done, just say that from the start. Don’t say you’ll do it and then not follow through. That’s misleading and leaves a bad impression, especially compared to how other Starbucks handle things with transparency and respect.

I’ve always had excellent experiences with other Starbucks locations, which makes this even more disappointing.
As the owner, you represent the Starbucks name, and your team’s actions reflect directly on the brand. The lack of transparency and professionalism I experienced doesn’t align with the standards Starbucks is known for. Read moreThis is now my favorite Starbucks to go to. This location is 2 stories with plenty of places to work/sit/hang out outside and inside. They have a enclosed conference room as well which is a nice feature. The best part here is the service. Never had I experienced such great service at a Starbucks. If you order and stay, they will offer to bring your drink to you. There is one specific employee name Laura. She is the best. Very nice and attentive. I had the pleasure of working from this location for several hours. She was so nice and had brought me plenty of drinks. Too much chit chat between the employees in the back making the drinks and even heard inappropriate language. Don't really appreciate their personal lives being broadcast for customers to hear. I was in a hurry and he kept chatting instead of taking orders. When I finally got to place my order I told him exactly my drink and he did not even hear a word I said.
