Poor customer experience — honesty matters

I came to the Starbucks at 3610 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, AZ this morning for my usual shaken espresso with light ice and extra oat milk — something I always order at other Starbucks with no problem. The barista told me they “aren’t allowed” to make it that way because of ratios, but then said, “I’ll do it this time and let the team know.”

When I got my drink, it was full of ice to the top and barely had any coffee or milk. I went back to ask, and the same barista told me again they couldn’t do it — even though he had just said he would.

It’s not about the drink — it’s about being straightforward with customers. If something can’t be done, just say that from the start. Don’t say you’ll do it and then not follow through. That’s misleading and leaves a bad impression, especially compared to how other Starbucks handle things with transparency and respect.

Im reaponding respectfully to owner’s comments, Thank you for your reply. I’m bringing this to your attention because this isn’t about a single drink — it’s about how your location represents the Starbucks brand. I’ve always had excellent experiences with other Starbucks locations, which makes this even more disappointing.

As the owner, you represent the Starbucks name, and your team’s actions reflect directly on the brand. The lack of transparency and professionalism I experienced doesn’t align with the standards Starbucks is known for. I’m addressing it here before it needs to go any higher, because I believe in giving the local franchise an opportunity to correct its approach. I hope you’ll take this as constructive feedback to ensure customers are treated with the same respect and consistency expected from...

This is now my favorite Starbucks to go to. This location is 2 stories with plenty of places to work/sit/hang out outside and inside. They have a enclosed conference room as well which is a nice feature. The best part here is the service. Never had I experienced such great service at a Starbucks. If you order and stay, they will offer to bring your drink to you. There is one specific employee name Laura. She is the best. Very nice and attentive. I had the pleasure of working from this location for several hours. She was so nice and had brought me plenty of drinks. If you use your app here, you get free refills on regular coffee, ice teas, Iced Coffees, and water. Laura treats everyone so nicely. Highly recommend this place. Look for...

3/21/25 9:45 AM. Male employee working the register is inattentive. Paid more attention to an off duty employee who was in the store. Too much chit chat between the employees in the back making the drinks and even heard inappropriate language. Don't really appreciate their personal lives being broadcast for customers to hear. I was in a hurry and he kept chatting instead of taking orders. When I finally got to place my order I told him exactly my drink and he did not even hear a word I said. He went thru the whole order again like I never told him anything. Very rude and does not pay attention whatsoever. Service here was great from when it opened and not so much today. This is not your average Starbie, the place, atmosphere, and the crew is top notch. The dine-in experience is something I will suggest doing. Sam, Callie, and Ms Laura are knowledgeable on their craft. Kudos to the management in building this team. They genuinely engage in conversation. I suggest if your drinking in house try to use their mugs instead of the disposable plastic cups. Welcoming everyone as you walk-in, feels authentic and not canned. Seats gets easily filled with individuals who study, work or enjoying the 2nd floor outdoor seating. There is even an 12-seat room that you can reserve for your team meeting or group study

Super eye-catching and clearly well thought out—from the seating layout to the lighting, everything feels premium and cozy at the same time. Tried the Cortado here for the first time since Starbucks added it to the menu, and it did not disappoint. Smooth, bold, and just the right balance—definitely my new go-to. Whether you’re grabbing a quick drink or planning to stay and chill, this location just hits different. Highly recommend!
