Isabel's Amor is one of my all-time favorites! The food, the service, the ambiance - I love it all. I took my step dad there last week to celebrate his 80th birthday. The staff made it special. I've never had any food there that I didn't like but I'm obsessed with the carnitas. The meat is so flavorful and tender and it has just the right amount of very tasty "crispy bits." A server told me that it takes days to marinate and roast the pork and they crisp it up right before serving. They take no shortcuts and it shows! I also love the freshly made tortillas that are served with many of their meals. They are so soft and don't even need any toppings to taste great. I always tear off a few pieces to eat alone. At many Mexican restaurants, the refried beans and rice add very little to the meal - they are just there. That's certainly not the case at Isabel's Amor. I love making tasty little tacos from the tortillas, beans, rice and carnitas. The creamy beans and perfectly cooked rice are the perfect complement to the crispy pork! My husband sometimes gets the carne asada. He thinks it's almost as amazing as the carnitas! The serving sizes are extremely generous (often, my husband and I share the carnitas and we both get plenty to eat). Despite the generous dinner portions, don't miss out on the appetizers! They are wonderful! My favorite is the cheese crisp but my hubby's favorite is the Frijoles de Amor - a hot, cheesy bean dip served in a mini cast iron skillet. It's exceptional!! Whenever we take friends or family there, we always order the Tres Salsas. It's a huge hit - especially the mango jalapeno - and there is rarely any left over! Ordering several appetizers in this charming, friendly, little restaurant is the perfect start to a wonderful evening. It never fails to bring out the smiles, laughter and relaxed conversation.

🌮✨ **Isabel’s Amor Review by the Renowned Food Critic** ✨🌮 Greetings, culinary enthusiasts! Today, I ventured into the lively atmosphere of Isabel’s Amor, eager to sample their offerings. My experience was a mix of highs and lows, so let’s dive in! 🌟 I started with the nachos and mini chimi’s, which unfortunately deviated from the traditional style I cherish. A bit of a letdown, I must admit. šŸ˜• Next up, I tried the steak and chicken fajitas. They were decent, but nothing to write home about. The flavors were solid, but I was hoping for a bit more excitement. šŸ„©šŸ— However, the enchiladas redeemed the meal. Bursting with flavor, they were the highlight of my dining experience. Truly delicious! šŸŒÆšŸ‘Œ I paired my meal with a cold beer, which complemented the dishes nicely. šŸŗ One standout aspect was the service. The staff was exceptional – attentive, friendly, and professional. They elevated the entire dining experience. šŸ™ŒāœØ Now, let’s talk price. For a meal that was overall average in terms of taste, the bill came to nearly $100. A bit steep for what was delivered. šŸ’ø In conclusion, while the enchiladas and service shone brightly, the rest of the meal didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I personally would try another place next time. But don’t just take my word for it – give Isabel’s Amor a try and see what you think! 🌮✨ #IsabelsAmor #FoodCritic #NachosLetdown #EnchiladasWin #OutstandingService šŸŒÆšŸŗ

Isabel's Amor is a really wonderful mexican kitchen that has great seating, ambience, service, and food. I have never been disappointed in coming to this nice sit down eatery. The staff is very attentive, efficient and pleasant. The food is surprisingly fresh and innovative without being stupidly odd (no french truffle bagets filled with oyster glaze and picante over carne asada with rare mini corn waffers). Just good , stylish mexican food entrƩes that are fresh, and taste great. I have tried their amazing tacos, their excellent carne asada, chimichangas, and loved their amazing protein bowls (really excellent). The food never disappoints, and the stagf seems to be helpful everytime I visit. The area, seating and facility is really nice. It's a genuine date destination, lunch meeting spot or family gathering spot. The prices are a bit higher than chain mexican food sit-down restaurants, so you will want to consider that if you are on a tight budget. The only negative I have encountered at this restaurant is that the last few visits I have seen the occasional fly buzzing around the inside seating tables. This is an important thing for them to fix. That said, and assuming they take care of that one issue, I will definitely be back.

I visited this location on Friday September 12th around 5pm. We had plans to go to a different restaurant but we were referred tot his place so we decide to give it a shot. Let me also say that I typically don't write reviews unless it's a really great experience or really bad, because I understand the type of impact it can have. With that said, as far as the food goes, this was probably the rudest I have ever been treated at an establishment. We were seated very quickly, and our waiter (Isaiah) was extermely kind and friendly. We sat down and ordered food and about an hour, probably, more went by and we hadn't received our food yet, But kept thinking it was Friday, busy, no big deal. Our food finally comes out and everyone's food at the table was cold, like it was forgotten about and had sat and they finally decided to bring it out. Our waiter apologies, manager apologized and explained they had some new people back there and it had been busy. To me still no excuse to bring out food that has been cold! But stuff happens and I wasn't too upset, manager again apologized and said she would comp our food and re-make everything, and she did. Now here's where it gets extremely interesting, maybe 15 minutes or so go by and they remade everyones food at the table and brought it back out. I go to touch my food kind of kidding but expecting it to be scorching hot from the first episode, and it's colder then the first time, i honestly couldn't believe it. I asked the manager to touch so she could see and she didn't want to, she just took my plate and I didn't hear anyting else from her that evening, she let the pour waiter take the heat from everything that was happened but I knew it wasn't his fault so I didn't take it out on him, i honstely felt really bad for him. To me there's never any excuses to serve cold food. That comes down to food safety and tells me that the food was just back there sitting and someone grabbed it and threw it on my plate. New cook or not, there's no excuses. And if they're that new, who is back there training them and overseeing what they're doing. Yes they didn't charge us for anything, as they shouldn't, but extremely disappointed that the manager didn't come over again to take control of the situation, she let the waiter do it. After the second time, I chose not to have them re-make my food as I just didn't trust it was sanitary and food was being cooked properly. Really sorry I had to make this type of review, but extremely shocked this happend to me not once, but twice within a matter of minutes at the same restaurant. Hopefully some feeback is given to the cooks that we're there that night, and especially the manager. Don't leave your employees out to try that night because of a difficult situation, you're paid to handle a situation like that. I wasn't irate, or didn't raise my voice, just shocked and upset that i spent two hours at a restaurant and left hungry and had to go somewhere...

I wanted to really enjoy myself but I just didn’t. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside which was probably the first mistake. It felt weird without music and a lot of people talking. Eventually the music was turned on which was nice. Our table was in the middle of a puddle of water and we probably should have moved just because of that

The chips came out and sauce which was delicious. The chips perfectly cooked and warm and the sauce was amazing. The problem was it was too spicy without a drink which took a while. And I get it. It was busy and we sat outside which side. I noticed the poor server had tables all over the place and she gave us decent service considering but I can’t help thinking if she had a section of the tables around us she would be in a better place to do her job

We ordered fajitas which was obviously a mistake. The meat was like warm and dried out with no flavor. No spices or anything it seemed like. Still not terrible. The plate is not sizzling it was a standard white plate. The problem was the beans and rice were over cooked. The beans had that crispy look and the rice was starting to change colors. But I tasted great flavor in both of them. The rice was slightly crispy so the texture was off. My mistake probably was not sending it back to the kitchen

The other issue was the tortillas which were boulder line burned. They tasted fine but they were as hard as the chips. Not an ideal for flour.

So my take is the cook is as also not given the tools needed to prepare the meal properly or who ever was cooking just had zero passion and ruined the meal.

Maybe even the fajitas are supposed to have a great flavor but the cook didn’t follow the recipe.

I’m not sure. I are here once years ago and remembered enjoying it

The Coke products were perfect so that’s generally a sign of a restaurant that k is what they are doing.

One day I’ll be back and make sure to update this review hopefully I can agree that this is a 4.5 place. My guess is that it normally is we just got unlucky walking in on a very busy Sunday afternoon.

Just please don’t order...

My boyfriend and I drive past this place everyday and always thought it was so cute looking, so we had to go. My first thoughts: the cheese crisp we ordered at happy hour was $4, which I thought was a great deal until I realized it was just a fried tortilla shell with microwaved cheese on top.. no seasonings or extras that a lot of places serve on their cheese crisps, it was really worth about 99 cents, but I didn’t think much of it. We ordered at 5:00, and got our drinks at 5:07... at 6:00 pm our food still wasn’t out. We watched our waitress standing at the hostess booth laughing and sitting down for over 20 minutes straight immediately prior to walking up to us and saying ā€œthe food still isn’t out! No idea what’s going on!!ā€... then she walked back and it was ready. It wasn’t hot... it seemed to have been sitting there for quite some time.. still I thought I’d give them a break— maybe they’re short staffed. But the place was dead, empty tables everywhere. So we got two margaritas, I thought surely they couldn’t mess this up.. but they managed to. I’m not a picky person, but these margaritas tasted like pure sugar. We tried the prickly pear and mango and they both tasted like a normal margarita, with 50 gallons of sugar poured in. They had zero flavor. This is when things really got sad.. we got enchiladas, and tostadas with rice and beans. This was the most NOT authentic Mexican I’ve ever had. It tasted as if it were cooked by someone who has never had Mexican food in their life. Bland is an understatement., the rice had no seasoning, it tasted like rice pilaf. The beans were dried, cold and tasted as if they poured them straight out of a can on to my plate.. and the enchiladas were just gross. You could get better enchiladas frozen. We spent over 2 hours here to eat very very low quality Mexican food and spent $60. I’m sad because we live nearby and had super high hopes, but this is not a good idea unless you like bland, cold ā€œMexicanā€ food and enjoy waiting 2 hours for your meal. You’d be better off going...
