I'm only giving one star for this visit in particular, I've been here previously and had no problem otherwise. The food/service here is usually perfect. My reason for this review pertains to my experience this evening.
I ordered a cesar salad and cilantro fries. It took 25 mins for my food to come out. they were busy, things happen, I understand. But when my food came out, my salad was hot, like it had been sitting under the heat lamps for a while, and the dressing was like melted and runny on the bottom of the bowl. Fries were lukewarm, again sitting under the lamps and not 'tossed' in the garlic/cilantro. The garlic/cilantro was on the bottom of the plate, fries on top. Frankly, I wanted to send it back as soon as it came out, but I was very hungry and ate what I could.
I have no problem politely informing my server if I'm not satisfied with something. Usually, they ask after bringing the food out. My server never once asked, nor really checked on me. I was alone at the bar.
The server should've recognized the food had been sitting and wasn't up to standard. 2. Should've also asked how everything was so I had a chance to voice my concern.
In conclusion; I was very hungry, ate what I could choke down, and decided to keep quiet given the circumstances. I understand these things happen from time to time and don't feel like this has been my common experience at this location. Hopefully, this review will help in a positive way because I do enjoy...
Read moreWe pick up from here probably 1-2 times a month. It’s always good, but we were really bothered when we found hair in our daughters food and had to throw it out. It appeared to be a thick and long beard hair which was disgusting, and i was very upset for my daughter. With that said, we’ve ate at pita jungle for 10+ years and at this location for about 2-3 years now, and that was the first time it happened.
We decided to give it another shot about 3 weeks later and I’m not even joking when I say this, there was literally another long disgusting hair in our food, although it appeared to be a long woman’s hair this time and was in my wives food. (My wife has curly brown hair and this hair was blonde and straight).
I’m not trying to discourage anyone from going here in any way shape or form, but my experience really makes me question their policies regarding health and cleanliness considering this happened two times back to back. As a long time customer, It was really disappointing and unfortunate.
With that said, I understand that it’s not the end of the world, and we may even consider going back. I’m just not sure when as the wounds are still kinda fresh lol.
Anyway, Pita Jungle is usually pretty awesome so I’m not sure if it’s a location issue or what, but I just thought I’d share my experience so hopefully this problem can be addressed with their staff and...
Read moreFirst time back at this location for quite some time. The food was not good.
I had the chicken tikka masala which has been my go to at both the QC and Chandler locations, and which I normally love. My fiancé had the chicken schwarma bowl.
The flavor of the masala was off compared to the other locations, but that wasn’t the deal killer. What made the meal bad was the rice. It was undercooked crunchy and unappetizing. I pounded it down, because it’s the only time I’ll have to eat today. 😩
The guava lemonade had no trace of guava.
The schwarma was served incorrectly as a wrap initially, but quickly corrected. Same issue with the rice being extremely unappetizing. The plate itself was so bad, my fiancé only ate the protein and wanted to leave. She’s not one to leave food behind, so it was upsetting to her.
The servers were nice, but that’s just not enough to save the experience. All in all it was $40 wasted on lunch… We didn’t complain to the servers and still tipped 20%+ because it wasn’t their fault the food was bad, but I felt compelled to let it be known that this place has gone downhill, so here we are.
If this may be your first experience going to Pita Jungle, I encourage you to try it, just NOT at this location. My personal favorites are the Tikka Masala, chicken del sol, or the grilled chicken and hummus (green) w/ side of...
