Let me start by saying I lived in Hawaii, and I am a poke bowl snob. With that said this place is amazing on so many levels! The poke bowls at Island Fin Poke are delicious and satisfying. The fish is exceptionally fresh, and each ingredient is well-prepared and balanced. There are so many choices and options that it will satisfy anyone’s palate. The poke bowls are fully customizable, starting with a base of rice, salad, or both, and then adding your choice of protein such as fresh salmon, tuna, octopus, chicken, spam, shrimp, or tofu. The range of topping is too many to list, but it is ensuring a variety of textures and flavors in every bite. The best part for us was the fact that all the sauces are homemade, and all are gluten-free!!! This is huge for those of us with celiac issues. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and all the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. This is my new go to for poke and the dole whip is...

The fish wasn't that fresh, and the sauce was just ok. It's also not a classic poke deli where the fish comes pre-marinated with sauce and mixins; it's a build-your-own affair all too common on the mainland. Lacking traditional relish ingredients like ʻinamona, kukui nut, ʻalaea salt, limu, or ogo.
That isn't to say there can't be good build-your-own poke bowl joints; it's just that this isn't one of them.
The rating of this spot, like seemingly so many others in the west valley, is highly inflated. It's far from a spot that deserves a near-perfect rating.

Read moreGreat experience and loved the bowls, dole whip was sooo good! Brett, one of the owners was the best, he helped my first time experience with poke bowls by helping me pick yummy ingredients and my bowl was so delicious. Definitely try the in house ingredients shrimp, Pineapple salsa, and kimchi. Mmmmm!! The only negative I would have to say was a little expensive $38 for 2 bowls and I only chose one protein. Nonetheless it was delicious, I highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back for the dole. Thank you Brett!
Thanks for responding back. You say in your response back that the bowls were $14 each, then how was my bill $38? And Brett said because I was doing one protein he was going to charge me for a kids bowl. 1kid bowl and 1 bowl was $38. That’s a bit...
