Rusty Taco — Restaurant in Gilbert

Yummy! I’d go back! Tried Rusty Taco for the first time and enjoyed it. Tried the fajita chicken, roasted pork and fried fish tacos. The chicken and pork were awesome, the fish was just ok. The smoky roasted flavor on the pork was so good. Also tried the queso, guac and salsa and chips. The queso and guac are amazing! Do not pass them up. Added a little guac to my tacos and they were perfect. I’d say these are also bigger/fuller than the typical street taco so I had a hard time finishing everything. My only slight complaint was that I ordered to go and it looked like they have a system break down with processing those bcz after 20 minutes of waiting I had to ask and they hadn’t started the order yet. Finished after 30 minutes of waiting. I will say it was crazy busy in there and I did hear the woman in charge remind the team about checking on to go orders and she apologized several times and gave me some coupons. I’m sure that’ll be worked out as time goes on. Not enough of a complaint for me to knock any stars off. I’m ready to go back and try some...

The line was long but the wait for service was even longer. The cashier could of placed everyone’s orders in five minutes instead she took one order then literally waited 3-5 minutes between orders. 🤦‍♂️

Once you placed your order, the wait was another problem. One customer complained to the manager that she had been waiting for 40 mins for two, yes TWO tacos 🌮!!

Finally the food arrived, we ordered the Taco Bowls with a margarita and a beer! Spend over $28 for this meal, what a waste of money 💰

The one taco bowl was a grilled shrimp one and Spicy fried chicken bowl!

The verdict!

Grilled shrimp bowl was flavorless, the shrimp 🍤 was lackluster with a ton of rice covered in sauce! Dissatisfied and disappointing!

Spicy Fried Chicken bowl was literally “chicken nuggets” covered in spicy sauce! This was a disappointment as well.

Overall the ambiance was fun, colorful, full of life unlike the flavor of the food and service!

Friendly, fast service- there was a huge line so I thought it would take forever but it moved so fast and my food came quickly, too! I was pleasantly surprised by how quick it was and everyone was very nice, too.

Delicious food- all four tacos I ordered were so yummy! I had the Piccadillo taco, a roasted pork taco, a beef fajita taco, and a shrimp taco. My only complaint is the potatoes on the one taco that was supposed to have them were so few in number that I didn't even notice them on my taco.

Nice drink selection- I had a mango margarita and it was very yummy! I wish they had a larger selection of beverages in general, tho, specifically horchata. They did have free water with lemons and a good selection of beer!

Overall, I will come again because I enjoyed the food and the prices were reasonable. It was a tad crowded but that's just a sign of the quality! 9/10...
