The Backyard in Gilbert absolutely knocked it out of the park! Our server, Lacey, was fantastic—super attentive, friendly, and made sure everything about our visit was top-notch. The atmosphere was amazing, with a laid-back outdoor vibe that’s perfect for a night out. We felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time. The food and drinks were just as incredible. The Scorpion Bite cocktail was a standout—perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The truffle bacon was a decadent treat, and the burger? Absolutely on point—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. A huge shoutout to Lacey for making our experience even better. If you're looking for a place with great food, killer drinks, and top-notch service, The Backyard in Gilbert is it. We’ll definitely be back! Update: super bowl 59 Sunday visit - 4.5-Star Review for The Backyard in Gilbert We visited The Backyard in Gilbert on Super Bowl Sunday and were surprised to find it pretty empty. While the atmosphere was a bit slow, our server was friendly and pleasant. However, the focus seemed to be more on ensuring the $50 per person minimum was met rather than providing top-notch service. We had to request silverware and plates for our appetizers, which should have been provided upfront. That said, the food was fantastic! The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, and the side salad was fresh. We started with wings, which were delicious. The drinks were also excellent—the espresso margarita was a standout, and the pomegranate prickly pear margarita was just as impressive. Overall, a great spot with delicious food and drinks. A little more attentiveness to service would have made it a perfect experience, but we'd still recommend it!

We had a great time at Backyard and I’m so glad we decided to stop in on a whim with a few of our kids. Instantly I knew I’d love it with the art wall and flowers painted on the tables…did I mention the cute VW Bug inside to take photos? We were greeted and seated instantly which was great because it was quite busy Sunday at lunch time. Our server came over quick and gave us some time to look over menus while she got our drinks. It was a hard choice on what to order off the menu, but I ended up with the Backyard Burger. We also ordered street tacos, two more bacon cheeseburgers and a sandwich. Everything came out pretty fast. I loved they had live music playing. It was just the right volume to still chat amongst our table or watch the TVS. The outside patio was nice and is dog friendly. My burger was so good! The roasted jalapeño and crispy onions were the perfect touch and so much flavor! Yum! Everyone loved their meal. Our server did kinda lack towards the end and we had to ask her multiple times for things, but again it was pretty busy and I have a mom brain soooo I’m pretty patient ha ha. Great vibe and we can’t wait to come back.

Nope. Not interested in coming here again. Typical bar food, but it's nothing special, especially for the prices. Atmosphere is cool, but very loud. I came on a Wednesday night when they had a live piano player. Could hardly hear each speak across the table. Definitely a night for an older crowd. Ordered the Backyard Blue Boy cocktail. It was alright. Just tasted like a regular pink lemonade. Had to fish out the blueberries to get the any of the fruity taste. Got the carne asada fries for my appetizer. Everything on the plate came out hot except for the meat. It was dry and cold! The Margherita pizza was sooo good! Only $8 on the Happy Hour menu. Came out hot and fresh (unlike everything else ordered). Then I ordered the Brookie for dessert. Waited a good 15+ mins before it arrived completely cold. Spoke with the manager, who confirmed the kitchen did not even attempt to heat it up before serving it to us. She mentioned they were short staffed with 2 cooks, but still not an excuse. Overall, not impressed. Our server was super sweet, but not super attentive and service in general was very slow.

Wow, everyone leaving negative reviews must not understand the world we live in today. "Things" cost money. Considering all the deadbeats in this country who don't work or expect everything for free are the reason inflation is so high right now. Cant blame the government. As well the president doesn't control costs! So lets not use that as an excuse or to blame for it. So in return we all pay for it now. Just like insurance, you don't have a choice, you still have to pay. You do have a choice where to go and get drinks or food I understand. However its like a steak dinner you want run of the mill or do you want a nice steak dinner. Backyard offers more to the guest than any other sports bar in the area, family / pet friendly, safe, all the games, the fights ect. All that cost them money. Rent the fight at home, $80.00 or pay for NFL ticket its $399. At bars they pay out the nose based on how many TV's they have. So maybe that's why certain things cost more there. If you don't have the money or don't like the cost you see on the menu, get up and walk out. No reason to stay and then leave a negative review after you paid your bill. Just to complain its expensive. Clearly areas of service will always need attention. Todays workers are lazy at best so be prepared to expect it.

I have been here many times, the service is always outstanding, the food is better then most sports bars. The bartenders work there @$$ off. Unfortunately one Sunday it wasn't the greatest but we all understood the water line broke the day before.

People are 5 times faster to leave a negative review over the little things and forget that society today. Try and take a moment to leave an establishment a nice review if your happy. (Most won't)

See you soon Backyard (Friday night...

The service was horrible, people standing around even though we had asked for things like silverware, napkins, and a box, and we never even got our water. The first bar tender gave us menus but never came back. The second bartender asked for our drink order and then asked if we would like water as well to which we said yes but we never got it. We sat there for about 20 to 25 minutes after they took our drink order before they finally asked for a food order. About 20 minutes later they brought us our appetizers but no napkins, no silverware, nothing. I finally went to the hostess and asked for some utensils and napkins as we had ordered wings and BBQ ribs. By this time we were afraid to ask about any main courses because we didn't have another 30 minutes for that and we didn't even have anyone ask. Forget about ordering anything extra like even a desert because they probably never would have gotten around to taking our order and we didn't have that kind of time. We asked one of the waitresses for a box and she said sure but then walked around the corner of the bar and just waited there with the rest of the staff. I had to walk back over to the hostess to ask for the box. Service was not friendly and it was slow to say the least. We finally got our box, packed the remainder of our appetizers in it and were ready to go. Again, we had to walk over to the hostess to ask about our bill but this time she wasn't even there. We eventually just left. I'm not sure why the service was so bad, they weren’t even THAT busy, especially for the amount of staff they had! I usually give a bad experience a second chance because everyone has bad days, but this was EVERYONE except the hostess. She was at least trying. I doubt that I...
