Read moreWe stopped at this place after a long drive. We were all starving and tired. I had 3 younger children with me who had been stuck in car for hours. I knew we all needed a break and drive through food wasn't going to cut it. So, I googled "best taco places near Gilbert Arizona". This was one of the first places that popped up. At that time, all I cared about was if they had traditional tacos al pastor as those are my sons favorite. Taco places are always hit or miss, but I figured we just need to stretch and get some food in our belly's. We walked in, and I was very impressed with the atmosphere. The restaurant was extremely clean, including the restrooms. Music was on point. There was plenty of comfortable seating, and I was so happy to see a salsa bar!! Most restaurants that I have seen since covid have closed their salsa bars, and I really miss them. We walked up to the counter and were greeted by a very friendly woman who took our order. Our food was out quick, and the flavor was great. I was happy they weren't super greasy and only had 1 tortilla. After we finished eating, my girls decided to dance to the music in the open space behind our seating. No one seemed to mind at all, and I was happy they were able to get some energy out. We don't live in the area, but if I did, we would...
Read moreThought I would try this place after seeing the high ratings. Unfortunately, my experience was less than expected. I ordered a chicken quesadilla to-go. For the price and quality of the food, I felt the value just wasn't there compared to similar establishments. For one, the chicken was the cheaper kind, predominantly dark meat, no strips or chunks of white meat. The quantity was also lacking, leaving a very thin quesadilla for the price. The salsa/toppings bar was nice. The hot sauce (red one) definitely has some kick to it, but I did find it to be overly salty for my tastes. The employee was very helpful and polite in providing recommendations. There were plenty of seats inside, but I did find the music to be overly loud. It should also be known that having an iron stomach will be an advantage here. I've never had problems at other Mexican restaurants. Perhaps I was having an off day, although I have friends that also had a similar, aching experience. Overall, food was only okay, and the value was...
