Venezia's is and will continue to be my favorite pizza restaurant. Especially now that they serve alcohol. However, my Valentine and I went on our date to this location, and I was appalled with the service. We ordered and the restaurant was empty, save for a couple to-go orders. We arrived at 9 pm, so no surprise there. However there were at least ten people working in the kitchen. For the lateness of the day, that was surprising. When we received our slice specials before our fried zucchini my date thought that was odd, so he went to check. First, he was told that it wasn't on the ticket and that he didn't know if we had a really paid for it. Why would we be expecting it then? The cashier had not given me a receipt for my cash payment. This didn't seem to help our defense against male counter clerk #1. OK, great start, so we are accused of lying first. Then, he says that "it's on the house" and it will be done in about 5 mins. 20 mins later we had long finished our food, which consisted of not finishing. The wings had GIANT HUGE PURPLE VEINS ALL THROUGH THEM. I have eaten A LOT of wings. These were sickening and such low quality. I couldn't finish, my date couldn't either, and we were sick of asking for things that should have been taken care of from the get go (they forgot the honey for our wings as well. This is a 4 item ticket. Not too hard, right?). I am very sad that we got excited about our budget date at our favorite pizza place only to have it ruined by a clueless 20 something male behind the counter that finds $2 of zucchini to be more important that customer service. I will never return to this location. Go to Higley and McKellips. Never ever have I had a bad experience there and I've been there dozens of times. I would drive from Chandler to North Mesa just to pay and tip employees...

As someone who used to regularly go here, I'm really disappointed at how bad the quality has gotten. My past couple experiences have been subpar, but today really took the cake and I've actually had to throw out most of it.
To start on pricing, I spent about $70 on wings, a sandwich, and two 16 inch pizzas -- this was With a coupon. I get that delivery is more expensive but this is excessive. For food quality, I asked for the pizzas and wings to be well done. One pizza came burnt, but that wasn't really an issue that's that big -- everyone has different definitions of well done and this may have been overkill, but I can't say it wasn't. The other pizza and the wings, however, are another story. They were both completely underdone: the pizza was doughy and inedible, the wings were not even browned and after we put them in the oven for 20 minutes at 450 degrees they just now looked cooked, let alone well done. The sandwich was soggy (despite having the lackluster sauce on the side) and the meat tasted really weird. We decided to cut our losses and toss out everything except the burnt pizza.
While this is the worst experience I've had in a while, the quality has been getting worse and worse over the past year or two and we've started going to new places. I was craving NY style pizza and I took a chance today, and I regret it.
If you need a slice, go for it. Their slices have remained consistently good. But my family and I definitely don't recommend any sort of...
Read moreHello, I'm a longtime customer of Venezia's especially the Gilbert location. I have been going to this location ever since I was a kid. I know these are difficult times and every business is adapting to help every customer. But this type of service I just received was unprofessional and inexcusable. These past few weeks I have been able to walk right up to the door and place my order without any issue. One of the great employees, Jake is usually there to greet me and take my order. He is always kind and there is never an issue. But this time was different. This time I was assist by a lady who you could say is on the heavier side, short and has brown hair. I do not know her name. When I tried to order at the door like the past three times earlier. She refused and told me I had to call or download the app to place my order. I quickly said, "I can't order right here?"with my debt card in hand. I get another "no" and then I said "because that would be to easy?" and before I could explain that I was able to order this way the past three times. She then laughed and shut the door in my face. I was in disbelief over this costumer service and I will never return to this store because of her. Hopefully this store can learn from this experience and quickly fire her. Because losing a longtime costumer like myself over a disrespectful and non-helpful employee is disappointing. I also work for a small business and know the importance of costumer service and repeat business. I will not...
