Mama Mia's Mediterranean and Italian Cuisine — Restaurant in Gilroy

🙅🏻‍♀️This restaurant has nothing to do with Italy and Italian cuisine. do not have the right to call themselves Mediterranean and Italian cuisine.

❌🚷terrible cooking, not fresh, not tasty.

🙅🏻‍♀️🥴🤮the food was cooked not today, not just now. food is half cooked and this food is stored in the refrigerator and then simply reheated before serving. because of this, the food is not tasty and stomach problems, discomfort, heartburn.

We traveled around California. after visiting Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park my 3 year old wanted to eat pasta with cheese and my husband and I were hungry too. we are from Europe and I was looking on Google for a restaurant with European cuisine and found this restaurant Mama Mia's Mediterranean and Italian Cuisine near the park. I looked at the photos in the reviews and made a screen of the menu to immediately show the waiter what we want. when we sat down at the table, I showed the waitress a screen of the menu from the reviews in Google and asked if they had one? The waitress answered yes. I asked will it be exactly the same? the waitress answered yes. 10 minutes later the waitress brought other dishes. instead of pasta with melted cheese and chicken pieces, it was mashed potatoes with one large piece of chicken fillet and a little grated cheese and tomato on top. my husband was hungry and he angry 😖just began to eat what they brought. we didn’t eat all day until evening and didn’t want to look for a restaurant again with the child and wait for cooking because it’s difficult with a child. and we are already tired after a long drive and active rides in the park.

I went up to the waitress and said that it’s not pasta and I don’t want mashed potatoes. the child does not like and does not eat it. The child was waiting specifically for pasta with cheese! 🍝🧀

she said ok i'll bring you extra pasta and brought pasta separately on a plate and a tomato on top. I was confused.😳😨🫣🤦‍♀️

the waitress said that this is almost the same as I showed a screenshot from the menu in Google reviews 😦

The child did not eat it and I did not eat it either.

the child was left hungry without food. I'm not talking about myself and my husband. For us, the main thing was to give good food to the child!

The chicken was undercooked and hard. mashed potatoes are not fresh, from which my husband had heartburn.

We also ordered soup and salad. a bowl of soup they have is 4 tablespoons in a very small bowl for sauce. their salad is just green leaves without anything else, such as cheese, croutons, olive oil. just take the leaves out of the bag and put them on a plate. these lettuce leaves are sold in all stores in packages, but only there they put cheese and crackers inside pack . in the restaurant lettuce without anything at all.

❌🚷❌ spoiled mood, again wasting time looking for good food for the child after this restaurant, discomfort in the husband's stomach after eating at this restaurant. terrible place.

The name of this restaurant is not "Mediterranean and Italian Cuisine, but "cheap low-quality...

This place isn’t really all that Mediterranean but more of a Americanized Italian-ish restaurant. The food and service is hit or miss and lately it’s been mostly misses. The lamb kabob was so bad I’m shocked the cook had the balls to plate that garbage to be sent out. It was four tiny pieces of lamb jerky atop cold rice stuff. It looked like a kids plate but tasted like a dogs plate.

The last and final visit was their refusal to make a burger to go for my daughter. Yes it’s on the menu but I was told they stop serving them at noon. Um, what? Nah, that was actually fine because their burgers aren’t that great either. I guess if you have a hankering for a burger with your coffee when you wake up this is the place to hit up? I ended up getting a burger from Famous Dave’s instead. Blessing in disguise because they make a great burger!!

I’m not sure what’s up with Mama Mia’s because the food and service is so unreliable, moody and really no sense of self it should be put on bipolar meds.

If you wanna gamble with your wallet and gut, give ‘em a try. But there are faaarrr better places to go.

I also notice they don’t address the complaints people have with them. They respond to the good reviews, but seems they’re less concerned about fixing some of the people’s complaints that could probably keep them as customers. I guess they’re good making ok money when they could be making great...

March 6th was my daughter's 8th birthday. She decided she wanted "Mama Mia's" for her birthday dinner. HUGE mistake! We arrived at 6:35 and we got seated right away(that wasn't the problem), the waitress was polite but DID not serve us BREAD, apparently she forgot. Please note: the restaurant was NOT busy what so ever. We ordered our drinks and the waitress gave my daughter the wrong drink she had ordered Sierra Mist and she gave her a lemonade, we decided to keep the lemonade since we had already waited 15 minutes for our drinks.. We order an appetizer, Calamari, and let me tell you it was DISGUSTING, it was rubbery like it was cooked in the microwave! We ordered our food around 7:05, my son wanted a cheese pizza, and apparently the pizza oven was not working so we had to order something else, he decided to order chicken tenders, 15 minutes later she came back and ask if it was OK to have them grilled because the oven did not work. How does a restaurant that specializes in pizza have both an oven AND a pizza oven down??? At this point we had already ordered our food. We waited an additional 30 minutes until we decide to leave! Kids were hungry and so was my husband! We had no option then to eat McDonalds! Yes, McDonalds was even better than Mama Mia's.. That should tell you Mama Mia's is not good, at least not this...
