This is a new food truck to the area, so I had to give it a try. And I am so glad that I did…!!!
Since I had not been here before, and I was getting food for 3 people, I ordered quite a few different items to try out. I ordered the Carne Asada 3 taco plate with rice and beans, the Chicken 3 taco plate with rice and beans, a Chicken taco, a Carne Asada taco, and a Carne Asada Burrito.
All of the items came with Limes, and the taco plates came with a cooked pepper, radishes, and pickled onions. That was a nice touch, especially considering it is a food truck.
The beans and rice were both good. The beans had something in them giving them a unique, but good flavor. I’m guessing maybe bacon grease?
The Carne Asada had a nice flavor, it was tender, with a bit of crispness on the edges from cooking on the grill. It was good. The Chicken was very tender and moist, and also good.
We received our food, and went back to the car to eat. They have outdoor tables, but it was a cold day, so we ate in our car. After getting it all unpacked, everything was piping hot. I mean really hot.
When our food was ready, I asked for sauce, 3 red and 3 green. The nice lady pointed to the see through bag, showing me all the sauces that were already in the bag. There were 3 larger red sauces, 3 larger green sauces, and 2 smaller green sauces. I am assuming that the 2 small green sauces were in a smaller container, as those were the hottest. They were all a bit hotter than most places, but all very tasty in their own way. I enjoyed them all, I just had to use less sauce than I normally would.
The only thing I thought was, although everything was still very good and I was pleased with my meal, for me personally the meat and chicken needed just a bit more salt. But I tend to like things a bit saltier.
We ordered two drinks, the cucumber, and watermelon. Both were good, but my favorite was the watermelon. When I have had cucumber drinks at other places, they were a bit sweeter, so that’s what was missing for me. And when I see watermelon, that’s what I always order, as it is my favorite.
In closing, the pricing was fair, the food was good, and portion sizes were a great value for the price. You should give this place a try.
I will be...
Read moreDriving down McLoughlin and saw a new food cart opened up. My only complaint is the there is no English menu, so I just randomly picked a torta. Holy crap this thing is good! So much food for $13! Definitely gonna make this a regular spot!
Edit: I have definitely made this a regular spot! Today I was splitting a torta with a friend for lunch. While just about anyone under 300 pounds would find half of one of their regular tortas to be plenty filling for lunch, I decided today would be good to try the ominous Cubano on their menu. There’s no description and I don’t speak Spanish, but what the heck? Everything else here has been great, so let’s give it a whirl! All I have to say is…. HOLY SH*T THIS THINGS HUGE!!!! Both me and my overweight friend have no hope at smashing this in one sitting! I’ve added a pic in case you’re curious!
Keep up the good work, you guys! Love having you in...
Read moreI just ordered from here for the first time about an hour ago, the chicken tacos were inedible. I really wanted to like this place but the chicken tacos taste like nothing. I’m not even just saying that either, I mean it. I had to throw them away.
The lime couldn’t even save it, sadly. I had my friend try them also and he agreed it was tasteless and also refused to eat them.
I don’t think I’ve ever REFUSED to eat a taco before until today. That’s definitely saying something.
Then to top it all off, they forgot the combination rice and beans I ordered. I for sure ordered it too because they asked me if I wanted it separate or combination.
Instead of going back to get the rice and beans that I ordered and didn’t receive, I’m just never going back there again and going to stick to my usual local Mexican place.
I really really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, I will not...
