First time there with my boyfriend. We heard their food was good and wanted to try it. They had some customers the evening we went but not overly busy. We were able to sit at the bar due to the niceness of a patron who offered us his seat so there could be 2 bar stools together.
We sat down at the bar and waited and waited and waited for one of the two bartenders to take our drink order or at least acknowledge our presence. We got neither. We got the impression they were deliberately ignoring and avoiding eye contact with us. Other customers were being served, getting drinks, one even got potato chips standing right to me while we sat there. We didn't even get a 'hi' or 'what can i get for you? ' out of any of the workers.
After sitting there quietly for 10-15 minutes, we left without having a order taken or even being spoken to. We, of course, will never return to that bar. We will take our money elsewhere.
In case it matters, letting you know that I am black and my boyfriend is white. I sincerely hope that wasn't the reason for us...
Read moreGreat prices on wine. Some beer. Some servers better than others. Lottery. One pool table. Come try them on a Tuesday night between (5-7pm+?) during customer appreciation night for cheap burgers & raffle drawings. Owner is a good guy, so long as you aren't a douchebag, trying him on.
I'd go there more for a glass of Wine now & then, if I weren't working nights so often. Unfortunately, can't make it there unless I want to wake up and start drinking first thing, or miss sleep in order to try.
If you love wood ceilings, tables & walls with natural trunk edges you'd probably like the interior here.
Tiny his & hers bathrooms. Water pressure good but water won't get hot too quickly. Some nights there can get kind of crowded & loud. Guess you just have to come see.
Parking fairly good (on both sides of building plus side street) but the Lair is between residential area & McLoughlin(99), so they shut down earlier...
Read morethe bartenders you can whistle/ hey /and hello all you want but basically have to scream or walk behind the bar to get a drink . They won’t serve a double or pitcher after midnight completely cool and understandable but at least serve me what I’m trying to pay for I have my OLCC and have bartended. Maybe if you pay more attention to your customers then your phone and your bartender sister who’s going out to sing a song for Karaoke every 45 minutes you’d know you weren’t “over serving” me as I got there at 11:55 after work and consumed 4 drinks by 1:10 when I was made to believe the bar was basically closed . This is also not the first time I’ve had to beg and scream and TAP on the bar for an order at this...
