🦆 Boardman Wetlands and Nature Park 🦆 📍 17908 SE Addie St, Milwaukie, OR 97267 📆 Daily 7am-7pm 🚗 Free lot parking 🚽 Know before you go: This park doesn’t have a bathroom! Boardman Wetlands and Nature Park is my family’s favorite place to hunt for ducklings in the spring, and when we went last week it did not disappoint! We saw several cutie duck families swimming in the open pond. 🐥🥰 The 5.8 acre park boasts a nearly .5 mile boardwalk loop, which is THE PERFECT nature walk for littles! We were able to spot ducks during the full walk (and looked for nutria too but didn’t see any that day). Beavers and blue heron can also be seen from time to time. 👀 After exploring, we headed over to the nature play area. This place was great. Fun natural playground for my 6 and 3 year olds. The elevated walkway makes this place as good as a zoo. The wetland was full of wildlife from ducks, red-winged blackbirds, nutria and geese flying overhead. It was hard to finish the whole loop because my 3 year old had to stop and say hi to each duck… so a lot of stopping.

My 6 y.o. and I went today. We had a great time watching the animals. I enjoyed the variety of native plants. It's such a great environment for local wildlife. Whoever designed the natural area did an amazing job. It's an excellent teaching opportunity for kids.

My husband and I have enjoyed taking our kids here for the last 5 years. We like to bring bread and feed the ducks. There is one in particular that is a different species of duck than the rest; he is bigger, with extra nodules on top of his beak, and he is super friendly and will almost come right up to you and wags his tail feathers when he's happy. My older daughter named him Henry, though he wasn't there the last time we went. I'm not sure why or if he'll be back. There was more garbage than usual and a lot of oil spread throughout the wetlands last time....

I feel super blessed to live right next to this wetlands. So many birds, frogs, and a handful of nutria here (would like to see them relocated, or eradicated due to the erosion issues they cause). Let's not forget "Bob", the friendly resident Darth Maul looking Moscovy duck!

Friends are always surprised when we take them on the boardwalk. This was very well done and it feels great to have some greenery so...
