First time getting food here in a long time! Decided to do Chinese food for Christmas Eve Dinner! We used to eat here in from early 90s until around 2011 probably 1-4 times per month. then from 2011 to 2019 was only able to come once every 3 months since I moved to WA. Today was the first time since around 2019! We always did dine in or take out probably 50/50 in the dining side. This place has changed a lot and not for the better.. The old bar side is closed and now the restaurant side is the bar! It is loud music and not peaceful like before... The food that was once awesome for decades is now Meh.. Our family always get family style with a mix of items but the must have was the General Tso Chicken. It used to be the best cause they don't use the traditional red sauce it is more a brown sauce. What used to make it great was the chicken had a nice glaze with a crispy texture. At least up until 2019. Since I have not been here in about 5 years something happened and changed. Now the General Tso has a slightly different flavor, the chicken is not crispy and not really a glaze it is just a ton of sauce pured on so all you taste is sauce and mushy chicken.. We also got other items that were again similar but just not as good as they used to me. Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs same issue seems like lower grade pork, Sauce is slightly different taste but still has the same unique color? I don't think we will ever come back cause this just kind of killed the Christmas...

I'm just going to chalk any positive reviews up to manipulation. This was bar none the worst food(of any nationality) I have ever had. The first thing that hit me was how much the place smelled like a thrift shop. My girlfriend that had been here as a child assured me that it was just an old building. The water was nasty tap water that tasted like the cup was not all that clean to start. No biggie. Just order a soda. Got 2 7ups. They tasted like Ivory soap. Switched for root beers. Can't taste the Ivory soap as much. Food came. I have never seen such literal fried rice. No veggies or anything else. Just cheap rice, tons of oil, and soy sauce. BBQ pork...tough. Broccoli and chicken. Way under cooked broccoli and the chicken tastes like roadkill. Sweet and sour and General Tso's chicken. Assuming the same roadkill chicken, but hard to tell under all of the breading and buckets of grease. The worst part way the egg rolls, spring rolls, or whatever they were. Tasted like they were filled with Stove Top stuffing and then marinated in grease overnight before being deep fried. One bite each and we were done. Even the fortune cookies were completely flavorless. How do you get fortune...

Went to the renovated bar to gamble. WONT GO BACK EVER. The server ignored us while chatting with friends at the bar. Fine. Including us there were only three people gambling and four at the bar. We went up to order food and drinks then sat back down to play. The server then turned the music up so loud that our eardrums were vibrating. I asked her if she could turn it down and she said that the customers (friends) at the bar asked her to turn it up and she would turn it down after the song was over. The speakers were right next to the machines and so loud I had to put wads of napkins in my ears. My boyfriend, who is partially deaf, was even uncomfortable with the volume. He went up to ask her to turn it down and she lied and said she didn't have ability to lower the volume. Even after we saw her turn it up. It was so loud that we couldn't eat our food because our ear drums were vibrating painfully. We asked for boxes and left. Unless you're 25 and dont care about hearing loss, stay clear...

First time I ordered orange chicken and Szechwan chicken as well as pork fried rice. The rice tastes like it had been sitting in a fridge for days and the chicken was soggy and disgusting. I called to see if I could get my mo eh back and they said no but I could have it remade. I ended up ordering two other dishes suggested by the woman who answered the phone and to my disappointment the food again is DISGUSTING. The beef dish is mostly veggies and the beef is chewy and tough. The chicken dish has so many onions in it I can’t even eat it. This is bad. They need to figure it out. Never eating here again

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! The store has a nasty store front and very bad first impressions when you go in. Menu is Inaccurate, family diner's price did not say per person like it should so it was misleading. The egg roll we got tasted stale and was extremely hard and crusted. The meat you got was 33% meat and 67% breading and the pork dried out faster than a dessert in a drought. When I got pork noodles, I didn't expect them to add in cambols chicken noodle soup with a side of disappointment. I wonder how this place passed health and safety inspections.

My friend lives near Mai-Wah and we like to get food here whenever I'm visiting and we're craving some Chinese. It's not in a great area, but the interior of the restaurant is clean and the service has been nice every time I've visited. Mostly, I'm surprised about the food, which has been delicious every time I've ordered. Us coming back frequently all boils down to the food, the best-tasting Chinese food we've tried around the Milwaukie area.
