This was honestly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Let’s start before we even talk about the food: the service. The owners themselves take the orders, but they don’t seem thrilled to be there or to serve you. There’s no warmth or welcome. You walk in, place your order, and if they don’t have something (which was the case for multiple items on the menu), they simply say, “We don’t have it,” and walk away without any apology or explanation. You’re left scrambling to pick something else, sometimes two or three times.
The man in the back presumably the cook, with a big mustache was extremely rude. He doesn’t speak to customers with even basic courtesy. It felt like we were bothering him just by being there. There was a strange sense of entitlement from someone running a small takeout joint.
Now the food: the biriyani was bland, under-seasoned, and just disappointing. It lacked depth, aroma, or any of the richness you expect from a proper biriyani. The chicken had a slightly stale smell, and we actually ended up with stomach upset later that evening. The lassi? Absolutely inedible. It smelled like sour, spoiled milk almost vinegary. We’re convinced it had gone bad, and it came from a bottle just sitting out, unrefrigerated.
There’s virtually no seating—maybe one or two chairs awkwardly placed—and the overall cleanliness is questionable. The only redeeming quality is that they’re open late, but frankly, it’s not worth the risk. Late-night hunger is better cured elsewhere.
Would not recommend. Be cautious if you care about hygiene, flavor, or...
Read moreFood was excellent! Loved every dish! Yum! I really enjoyed the mango Lassi. Everything was very flavorful, the portions were large, and all dishes had a homemade authentic taste. But not a place to go to enjoy a meal! The service was terrible! They need a food services/restaurant management consultant to straighten things out. It appeared that there were enough people working, but not at all efficiently. The young woman at the counter was polite but needed help with the volume of customers and should practice using her "outside voice" when announcing orders. We waited at least 30 mins to get our food, so do not go if you're famished, which I was. We even tipped, though all they did was bring the food to the counter from the kitchen and call out. This is not "service." There were no napkins, the tables were dirty, and they only had plastic utensils with which to try to cut/eat chicken. I checked the bathroom for paper towels since there were no napkins and didn't find any of them either. All while my nose was running from the spicy heat! Plus, the bathroom was messy. I'm sure we will get food from here again because we like Indian and it's quite good, but we won't leave a tip and won't expect...
Read moreI am a student at Rowan University who has until very recently never had Indian food. Last month I was introduced to Indian Ethnic Curry and I’ve been addicted! Throughout the last month I’ve been to Fultoo five times for various lunches and dinners, bringing my friends and family to try some as well. Each one of those five times I tried and loved a different curry style, including Rogan, Tikka Masala, and Korma. I’ve also had some appetizers including Samosas and my favorite, Masala Onion Rings. I also enjoyed Rose Lassi, a creamy yogurt drink that ended my spicy meal very nicely. When it comes to service, the staff at the counter is always very nice and timely with the food. They’re very generous, as I received an extra plate of rice when I ran out and still had curry to finish. They also offered me a new dish called Idli, which they were planning to put on the menu. It was very good, I enjoyed the sambar sauce for dipping the fluffy bread in. I appreciate their great quality and generosity, and I intend to keep going back whenever I’m hungry on campus. It’s a great spot to meet with friends after a...
