Overall, good food and atmosphere. The pricing is a bit confusing because you can either buy crabs by the dozen or by weight, but it’s a better deal by weight; you’re sure to get enough to eat even if the crabs are light. Menu items: They have a bunch of deals on different seafood feasts that are good. The all-you-can-eat feasts include whatever seafood you’d like (pretty much anything with a shell), boiled baby potatoes, corn, and some slices of polish sausage. Or you just buy stuff by the pound or count. It’s really open and you can put together pretty much any kind of meal you’d like. Taste: I didn’t try any of the sides, but I did eat some hush puppies that we ordered in addition, and they were probably the best I have ever had in my life! I’d go there just for those! They seem to be freshly made by hand. The seasoning on the crabs might have a bit of sugar in it - it was a tiny bit sweet. Just a hint of sugar, though. Maybe…we thought we tasted it. But it was really good! The crabs were fuller on top of the pile, of course, most likely so the good ones are eaten first and not wasted. Wasting: Speaking of wasting, the owner is adamant about not wasting food. There’s a sign that says, “Do not wast (sic) food.” 😉 They will charge you $14/lb for food you order and do not eat when you are having an all-you-can-eat meal. I get it, especially with prices the way they are, but it’s not very professional. Service was ok. We got no utensils, real ones. Just a plastic covered set with a napkin, and the plastic ones were small and flimsy af. Did nothing for breaking open crab legs or scooping out meat that’s stuck. Our waiter scrounged up a butter knife for me to use, and a nut/crab leg cracker. I found it very strange there were no real utensils standard on the table like other places. Atmosphere: I’m not into r&b music but it wasn’t horrible. From what I noticed, the lyrics were PG-13. It wasn’t too loud either, so we could talk normally. There were tvs on at the bar, interesting decor on the walls, and pretty cool benches for each table. The hand-washing station was clean and very much appreciated. I like when crab houses have those, hate when they don’t. We got 3 lbs of crabs, which came out to 11 crabs, and it was $12/lb, so $36. It came with the potatoes, corn, and sausage, and we wanted hush puppies too. My bf got a Hazy O beer for $7. Not a big selection of beers to choose from. He likes IPAs but Hazy O was the only one he could get. It was good, though. All in all, we walked away full of crabs and hush puppies for a reasonable price, and we were happy. It’s a new place, so maybe soon they’ll be able to invest in silverware and hammers for guests who like to use...
Read moreWas excited to try this place. We were seated quickly, and our server came over and introduced her to us. That was the last time we saw her.
Another person came over and told us our server was busy, and that she would help her. Upon looking around, I realized we were one of a very few who were actually in the restaurant with the exception of those at the bar.
The person who came over to help, explained how the menu works, and we opted for the all you can eat.
There is a two hour limit on the all you can eat, so I expected to at least have two rounds of food. Unfortunately, for the entire two hours, we were only served once. Our server never made another appearance.
Not only that, but we had no way to open the claws. We were only provided with plasticware.
Now for the quality of the food.
We ordered appetizers. Mozzarella sticks, and two orders of crab balls. The mozzarella sticks were actually pretty good. We only received one order of crab balls, and they had flavor, but didn't have much crab in them. It looked like they were made with what is called "special" crab meat, which would be the lower grade crab meat.
Although I don't expect top quality in a restaurant like this, I somewhat expect the food to be half way decent. This was not the case. The food was shockingly low quality. The blue crabs were small, and had no meat in them. They were also mostly tasteless, and the crab legs were what appeared to be of the frozen variety where the meat was difficult to get out, and didn't taste all that good. The scallops were also mostly tasteless.
I was hoping I would have a chance to at least get one more round of food, but it was not to happen. Our server was nowhere to be found. I finally got frustrated enough, and just wanted to leave. I had to chase someone down to provide me with the check.
I was somewhat disappointed they added the tip to the check. I'm the sort who tips according to the level of the service. I am often times quite generous when tipping, sometimes going as high as 40%. In this instance, I would not have left a tip as there was no service, and the experience was poor.
I was hoping to add this place to the list of places I frequent. Unfortunately, that will not be happening. I will be crossing this place off my list, and advising anyone who asks to find...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant for my father in laws birthday dinner. We had a party of 6 adults. When we were seated it took 23 minutes for someone to come over to our table to greet us. That happened after we had to go to the podium to ask for a manager to complain. The manager did not come but the server finally did 3 minutes later. We were told that since we were a party of six we would have two separate trays coming out so we could order 3 seafood per tray. We decided to order MD blue crabs and snow crab legs. So we had 3 orders of each. The first order came out and had 6 crabs and 6 snow crab clusters and the server said she would put another order in for us as soon as that one came out. The next order that came out literally had 3 crabs. How does “3 orders of blue crabs consist of 3 crabs”. We are 6 grown adults fighting over a crab at an all you can eat place. We were extremely frustrated by this point and requested to speak with a member of the management staff. The server was then making excuses that the kitchen staff speaks mandarin so she is unable to communicate with them. It honestly seems like the server was not remembering to put the orders in or the correct amounts that were being ordered at a time. The drink service was very slow. One guest didn’t get a drink that she had ordered until we were about to leave because the server forgot to put it in even after she was reminded multiple times. The manager was able to assist with the quantity of food that was sent to the table after multiple complaints. Also it is noted on the menu that 18% gratuity is automatically added to all parties of 4 or more for the all you can eat. I typically tip well beyond that but the server didn’t deserve that or anywhere close. The restaurant did not have any nonalcoholic beer options either. For 6 people we ended up spending close to $425.00 for nothing but a disappointment. We are a huge seafood family but certainly will not be back given the experience we had at this establishment. Even after everything we endured the manager did not try and make it right or offer any type of discount for the trouble we had gone through the whole night. This place does not take responsibility for its staff members and their actions well in reality the lack of actions. Don’t waist your...
