Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Maryland

I couldn't write this review fast enough. Will was an absolute 10/10 and more servers should strive to be like him.

I had a more "elegant" evening planned for my husband's birthday, but plans changed much to our dismay and we finally all settled for Outback at the request of one of our kids. I wasn't thrilled at being informed that they do not accept reservations, but headed on down anyway. I arrived first and asked the host if there was any way to bring out cake at the end. I didn't need some song and dance, I just wanted to surprise him with a slice of cake and "embarrass him if possible".

We were sat surprisingly quick and our waiter, Will, came over to take our drink orders. He had an otter in his pocket much to my sons delight and kept the atmosphere light hearted and joking. Drinks were always kept full and he was very attentive to all our needs without being overbearing. Literally the epitome of the perfect service worker. Towards the end, I was nervous about if the message got passed on, but thankfully, my son remarked that I forgot to ask for a refill of his juice as Will was walking away. I caught another server, explained the situation and I wish so bad that I caught his name because he was the freaking man in passing along the message. We were about finished the meal when I asked Will about the "refill". Another food runner dropped off the juice and immediately after, Will came with cake and even sang to my husband saying "I was told to be embarassing".

Will made this birthday so much more memorable than it would have been and went above and beyond. He kept us laughing and brought up the mood so much on what would have been a flop of a birthday. Please give him all of...

We eat out extremely often and are very particular about our food. I visited the Glen Burnie location on a Saturday evening with 2 of my sisters. We were seated quickly and our server, Ivan, approached very shortly thereafter to take our drink orders. The first sister and myself ordered the same dish and the 2nd sister ordered something different. When we received our meals, me and sister 1 were quite disappointed as the entree though, hot and visually appealing, lacked any real flavor and was tough. However the 2nd sister’s dish was “to die for delicious”! Sister 1 and I continued to belabor our choice and must have been overheard by restaurant staff. Out of nowhere, Manager Lisa appeared as courteous and respectful as possible and offered to sub out our less than satisfactory dish. It’s unfortunate to say I was surprised because I believed customer service like this to be dead in all but ultra high end restaurants. I remarked the same to Manager Lisa and complemented her profusely on the supreme quality of customer service provided by her and Ivan both. Note that Ivan had made great efforts to make sure we were happy throughout our dining experience, by checking in on us in timely intervals and guaranteeing we had everything we needed. If i could give 0 stars I would. My family and I used to dine at this establishment every week, as of lately they've screwed up just about everything they could. The servers are unpleasent, and the food is always hard and cold like it's been sitting for a while. It doesn't matter if we dine in or do curb side, they always mess up our order, either cooking the food wrong or bringing us the wrong items all together. We tried ordering from them one last time to see if they could get the order right, (only ordering one steak meal w/fries and the new loaded bloomin onion) , and they couldn't even get that right. They gave us a regular bloomin onion and a extra order of fires with nothing else on them when they are suppose to have cheese and bacon on them. Then the steak and fries were hard and cold as if they'd been sitting for a long time. Mind you we only live five minutes away. When we called the restaurant back the manager said he'd put the money back onto my card, but insted endded up charging me AGAIN for the same appetizer. The total incompetence of the staff at this establishment astounds me really, with cooks who cannot properly prepare their food, servers who are incredibly unpleasant, and managers that can't seem to manage, I'm extreamly suprised this place is still up and running. I highly recommend that if you are going to eat out, go anywhere other then this establishment. Save yourselves...
