After five years of living in Baltimore/DC area, after having lunch today at "Los Gallitos", I found myself saying that it was possibly the best Mexican food in the area. I had lunch with a friend and we are both from California (born and raised), and I have also lived in South-Central Texas for three years - the Mexican food at "Los Gallitos" is definitely some great Mexican food, worth your time to stop by. Immediately upon walking in, we noticed that the waitstaff was energized, engaged, and friendly and we were sat quickly. Between the two of us, we had: complimentary chips and salsa (huge plus), chips and guacamole, a ceviche tostada, chilaquiles, and an horchata. The complimentary chips and salsa was fresh, mild, and did NOT taste like tomato sauce, which I shout out because there are places in the area that don't understand the difference - "Los Gallitos" DEFINITELY knows the difference. The chips and guacamole was ordered spicy, and as someone who is a big fan of spicy food, I think it could be spicier, but the flavor was great (we added a bit more salt and it was perfect!). The ceviche tostada tasted fresh and flavorful. The chilaquiles were AMAZINGLY delicious - the flavor was perfect and I was given a spicy salsa to add to the dish as I ate. This extra salsa was complimentary and not asked for, but appreciated; a sign (in my opinion) of a waitress/waiter who is observant and pays attention to their customers. The chilaquiles were also a good portion size, well-worth the reasonable price. My only disappointment in my experience today was the horchata. I'm a big fan of horchata when done right and it is something I test at different Mexican restaurants I try out, so I was disappointed at the artificial taste of the horchata (which tasted like horchata made from powder) after all the other fantastic food I had today. Overall, given the wonderful experience having lunch today at "Los Gallitos", from the food to the waitstaff, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Los Gallitos" to anyone looking for GREAT Mexican food! My friend and I both look forward to trying more of the expansive menu "Los Gallitos" offers as well as interacting with the staff. In particular, we were eyeing the menudo, pozole, and birria tacos with consume. For MD locals, I can tell you now, "Los Gallitos" may very well outperform "Los Primos" down in Laurel, MD for Mexican food - especially if you're looking for a shorter wait time to order and receive your food. If you're close to the Glen Burnie area, you might want to consider ordering from "Los Gallitos" and getting some upper-tier Mexican food! Gracias a los empleados a "Los...

Tacos have actually gotten better, with the plates including sautéed green onions on the side. Their green sauce isn't the same as it used to be, but still adds great flavor to an entrée of carnitas. Service is still awesome, so if you're in the mood for Mexican fare support a local business and give them a try!
La Fondita 2 is an awesome little family-owned Mexican restaurant in Glen Burnie. With a no-frills location inside a small strip mall, they focus on quality authentic food while still managing to produce a pleasant atmosphere.
The food here is the highlight. Everything is prepared and cooked fresh to order, arriving piping hot to your table. The portion sizes are generous. Burritos rival the size of those at Chipotle and are filled with a variety of ingredients which can change from day to day. The tortas (sandwiches) are huge! A Torta Cubana is literally a meal for two, spilling over with three kinds of meat layered on fresh vegetables and cheese. The selection of meats for your regular entrees of tacos, huaraches , etc. is great. Each meat has a distinctive and bold flavor. They do an excellent al pastor, spicy and mixed with pineapple bits for that extra sweetness. Their homemade salsa is also worthy of mention, having a sharp, spicy taste with a good bit of citrus flavor in the background. Just be aware, spicy means spicy here so be prepared!
As to the facility, they maintain a nice clean space with minimal yet interesting decor. There are plenty of tables, and a couple of TVs running hispanic channels. They have some interesting music, which can be turned up loud at times, but is mostly traditional and fun to listen to. Service is always pleasant and friendly. They do a good job of making sure you are welcomed and taken care of.
I highly recommend giving this place a try for some authentic mexican fare. It is a pleasant change from the typical saucy, cheesy style cuisine at many chain...
Read moreOur waitress great and the atmosphere is simple but nice. The agua frescas were really nice. Not too sweet and they seemed freshly made, not from a mix. I had tamarindo and my girlfriend had jamaica. I tend to like my agua de tamarindo to be a little more tangy, but at least it wasn't too sweet. It was the perfect accompaniment to the meal, counterbalancing the spiciness in some of the dishes perfectly! We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, and we ordered "spicy" guacamole. Although it wasn't actually spicy for our palates, it was tasty! Very fresh and bright. Although maybe a little lacking in avocado and overdone with the other veggies. I had the barbacoa with rice and beans. The barbacoa was tender and flavorful. However, if you don't like gamey lamb, it's probably not for you. It came with warm corn tortillas which were delicious. The salsas it came with were good. I particularly liked the red one. It had a nice dried chile flavor. The dish was served with some pickled jalapeños too. The meat along with some salsa and pickled jalapeño in one of those tortillas made for a damn tasty taco! The rice and beans were flavorful, although not the best I've had. My girlfriend got the bistec encebollado. That was awesome! Tender, flavorful steak with a smoky grill flavor and lots of grilled onions. We took some flan napolitana and pastel de tres leches home for dessert because we were so full. They were both tasty. The flan was pretty classic and tres leches had a great flavor to it! This was great, traditional Mexican food for an awesome price. We will...
