Danby's Station — Restaurant in Glen Ellyn

Food encrusted on the silverware, our waitress seemed a bit disinterested in taking our orders and slammed my bowl of soup on the table. The small orange juice was a little bigger than the size of a shot glass. The actual food was a bit tasteless. While trying to pay our check the hostess kept on a conversation with a customer standing in front of the cash register rather than asking her to step over and check us out while continuing the conversation. Food was okay, typical breakfast food. Nothing memorable. They also have a very outdated menu, for example my wife loves avocado toast which is pretty popular but they had nothing with avocado. Service wasn't great, it was after the breakfast rush so it wasn't that busy but we couldn't even find our waitress to put in our order or get refills on coffee. The kids portions were a decent size. I might be biased as I worked here for close to a decade back when it was Denny's, but this place just has no soul. The decor portrays a BS picture of Glen Ellyn and Danby in general. The history they chose was the history that was re-written by Glen Ellyn a while back to make them seem more friendly, when in fact GE and the surrounding areas were not very open to those who weren't rich.
