Newton Skate Park — Attraction in Glen Ellyn

They resurfaced the park a couple years back. At first it was extremely coarse, and would rip up your skin/clothes if you fell. Today, it's much better and less rough.

This park has a lot, and is well built- TrueRide ramps. It has a miniramp, with quarterpipe hip, and bowl corner attached, small quarterpipe next to bank ramp, small bank ramp, long box, circle rail, long box/ledge, long quarterpipe with big bank (and smaller quarter in middle of bank), pyramid with roll-in bank, ledges, and flat rail.

All around, awesome park.

Edit: Review has been changed to recent update of park. They took out a perfectly setup park (quality ramps too), and replaced them with these...

It doesn't have the 'skatepark experience'. There is no smoking, or drinking aloud. I understand it's so close to where kids hang out but that's part of that 'skating experience' I love so much. First time skater (44yrs old) I loved it. I don't know why I waited so many years to try skating. I crash in to the fence a bunch but that's to be expected....
