I go here once in a while just to grab a handful of things for cheap. Their prices are truly unbeatable. However, for me personally, the lower prices are usually not worth the hassle. Quality and customer service are comparable to Walmart; selection is meager, but all of the basics are present. Occasionally, there are some great deals on some rotating items that are available at that particular time only.
My first ever shopping experience here was a complete nightmare due to not knowing all of their "rules" (they should consider posting some signs around the parking lot, could save a lot of people a lot of time and trouble).
For first-time shoppers: (1) have a quarter ready if you plan to use a grocery cart, (2) bring reusable shopping bags, or plan to either grab some empty boxes off the shelves to use or pay extra for bags at checkout, and (3) most Aldi stores that I've been to do NOT accept credit cards... [insert embarrassing story of shopping for over 30 min only to be turned away at checkout because I only carry credit...
Read moreAlex is the reason it's not 5 stars anymore. I know he is new. He was very rude. My mom is disabled and he was very unkind to her.I do understand, however depending on ones age that there's a learning curve.I have been coming here for a while. I really love your store. Your manager with the blond hair is amazing and she's been there so long.I wasn't dressed fancy and neither was my mom, maybe if we were in our usual attire Alex may not have judged us. He barely spoke to me at the checkout line and snubbed me.He then proceeded to happily greet the lady behind us instead. I may still come back but my mom and her disability shouldn't have been treated that way.I don't like putting people on blast. This is my first negative experience here.I live closer to the one in villa park, but choose to come here because you guys have great customer service. That i will leave on a positive note. Majority of your employees have phenomenal customer service and I can't say...
Read moreI was eating dinner this evening, which I had made from scratch spending at least half of the day in the kitchen preparing, when my boyfriend noticed something that looked like pepper in the soup. On a closer inspection, it turned out to be a bug. We looked into our soups and began seeing that it was not just one bug but many. As we continued to pull dozens upon dozens out of each of our servings, we realized it was not just a few but an infestation. Not only was my appetite ruined, but I also had to throw away the entire pot of soup. All of the products had been bought from Aldi, and I had rinsed the kale according to common protocol. I am disturbed and disgusted by this occurrence. I wanted to bring this event to your attention so it does not happen again to any other any unwary individual. I am struggling with the decision of discontinuing buying just produce from Aldi or finding another grocery...
