On this year on the seventh month i journeyed to Glen Rose Square where I found a restaurant which drew me in due to the exquisite elegance of the front sign, which stated pizza pasta salad
After pondering if I should walk in for a couple of minutes, I decided why not
As I walked in the building building, no one was inside except a waitress at the front desk. Luckily, I was able to get to my seat.Once I sat down the waitress was quick to get off her phone and adventure toward our table
The table was lined in a beautiful red and white checkered linen very Italian I must say
When the waitress arrived she was quick to ask what we wanted to drink . After a minute and thirty four seconds the drinks arrived and with those came an amazing platter of two freshly warmed garlic rolls
I quickly devoured the rolls and buy the time we were finished eating them the waitress walked with a smile back to the table and requested what we desired to order “Who da Thunk it” I ordered the Lasagna (layered plates of noodles cheese and sauce)
Luckily after she took the order to the kitchen two old ladies entered the restaurant in a quiet demeanor to eat a salad an order of stramboloi and lasagna
As I waited for my food I looked around at the atmosphere of the restaurant and realized it was an old cola cola plant WOW
The other half of the restaurant was very well Italian themed other than a hint of Glen Rose charm with a stuffed Dino and tiger
After six minutes and forty nine seconds the lasagnas arrived in a bowl which was very hot and I mean very hot .The lasagna seemed to be handcrafted by the finest of chefs in Glen Rose and had the perfect hint of basil
Then after I hogged down that divine meal I wanted another roll to soak up the remaining sauce But Unfortunately the waitress informed us that they charge five dollars for additional rolls .they were so good it had to be done.
After we chowed those down we were wrapping up our meal when unexpectedly a happy old couple entered the primise and as they journeyed they passed us when the wife said “now days walking is a pain in my butt”
After this interaction we rose from our mid twentieth century seat toward the payment table We were once again meet by the same waitress who ringed up our bill in a calm tone
Once our credit card was accepted we left La Vita Restaurant which translates to...
Read moreI hope that the owner sees this, so they can be made aware that the young girl working the front counter on 2/21/25 just lost your business a $100 order, as well as all future business from us.
I want to start out by saying that I live locally, & have given La Vita my business many times in the past. Although it's a little more costly, we love their food & always try to support the "little guy". However, I'm very disappointed in the experience that we had tonight. I tried to call multiple times to place a to-go order & the phone went straight to voicemail. I confirmed online that they were open today & didn't close until 9pm, so figured there was simply something wrong with the phone. My family decided to drive up there (a 30min drive for us) to place a to-go order. We arrived at 8pm & were told by the young girl working the counter that they would not accept our order because they "close in an hour", & it would "take over an hour" to prepare our food- NOTE we had not even told her what we were wanting to order before she refused. As mentioned above, we've eaten La Vita many times in the past & always order the same thing (two pasta dishes, a large pizza, garlic bread, & a side salad). Not once has it taken 30min to prepare our order, much less "over an hour". I understand refusing if we would've tried to place an order 15-20min before closing, but getting turned away an hour before closing is just ridiculous, especially a to-go order on a Friday night.
So if anybody is considering eating here just make sure you arrive multiple hours before they close. I would say try to call first & confirm that they'll actually accept your order, but as I mentioned- the phone...
Read moreMy daughter wanted Italian food to eat so because we live in Glen Rose we went to this restaurant. I've been to it before and did not like it I was hoping that it had improved. I was completely disappointed however, the prices online were lower than the prices in the restaurant. When I mention that to the person taking my order she said that the online's menu had not been updated. I asked her about getting garlic bread or bread with my food if it naturally came with it and she said no rudely and then rolled her eyes at me. I have never heard of a Italian restaurant not serving bread of some kind with the food. I ordered two chicken fettuccine Alfredo's and eggplant parmesan and also garlic bread because I was told I would not get any bread otherwise. My order was $36 and she gave me all my change back in $1 bills with attitude. I do not understand why I cannot go into a place of business and be treated with respect. When my daughter came to pick the food up because I did not want to wait the 30 to 45 minutes for the food they could not figure out my order because she put it under a different name and she could not even remember that I had been charged and already paid. I would never recommend anybody go to this restaurant and I believe that all the restaurants in this town should be frequented because I believe in supporting small businesses however this restaurant is rude and they do not care about their customers. Plus the garlic bread was wrapped in a manner that the cheese was all stuck together when I tried to pull the...
