Subway — Restaurant in Glencoe

Going to the subway was better than any High School Dance I had ever been to, there was a customer who was so offended over seemingly small mistake, but a mistake he called out while looking out for his wife.

A newer cashier had just checked out another customer during a busy day and with five people in line quickly transitioned into making the sandwich for this gentleman's wife who wasnin ftont of me, thr new cashier made the simple mistake of not changing gloves before touching food again. The gentleman went into passive aggressive teacher mode about the germs on money. There was a bittersweet aura in the place as an older man was unable to contain his composure, and the younger man making the sandwich maintained his, with me being next in line I can say that I was proud to see the younger man who was making the sandwich bite his tongue and continue to have a good day regardless of the childish customer that he had finished with. I was able to smile with the cashier / sandwich maker and in the same breath was able to remind him not to be offended by customers like that but certainly keep the important things said as truths and...

Service great clean nice place... Bur $30 for 2 foot long sandwiches blew my mind. Got a steak n cheese... Come on 3 little scoops of steak and 2 thin slices of cheese....basically nothing but bread! I didn't even want to think what the up charge for extra cheese would have been! I know things are getting expensive everywhere...but this is fast food. I could have had a full meal with a drink and fries at any sit down restaurant for that price. Sucks for the employees to see a review like this...but they did a great job!! They don't set the prices or the portion control...they just do their job! I don't see subway staying in business if they don't find a better balance in price vs actual size of the bread vs the amt of actual meat...

Went in today with my family. As soon as I got in I said to employee "Hello". Employee looked at me and said nothing. My daughter's then said hi to same employee...nothing. When it was time for veggies the second employee just looked at my wife who was first and said nothing. My wife had to ask him if he was ready. The absolute worst service I've ever seen at a restaurant in my life which resulted in NO tip....
