As an accidental traveler of space & time, I’ve stumbled here from centuries ahead. My original mission was clear: To investigate the past & observe firsthand the events that led to the catastrophic 'Big One.' However, amidst the chaos of temporal displacement, I awakened upon an unexpected anomaly - Carolina's Mexican Restaurant. I was greeted with something called the Oaxaca Burrito. What I discovered was a symphonic twist of flavors wrapped in a tortilla that defied all the culinary norms of my era & transported me to a dimension yet defined. The salsa, a vibrant concoction of zesty molecules dancing on my tongue, offered a taste of freedom amidst the controlled epicurean landscape of the past.
In a world governed by benevolent robot overlords, edible sustenance was carefully curated to prevent us from attaining too much wisdom & strength, which could possibly challenge their dominion. Yet, Carolina's food stands before me today as a beacon of rebellion, a testament to the resilience of taste in the face of oblivion.
Legend had it that long before the upheaval of the 'Big One,' there existed a world abundant with delectable wonders that travel beyond our wildest imaginations. My grandfather regaled tales of ancient delicacies like quesadillas, tacos, and something called a “Toast ahh duhh”. These tasty treats, once dismissed as whimsical fantasies or obscure cultural references, now took on new meaning as I savored each bite at this Central American eatery. Carolina's is a time capsule of flavors from an era forgotten, a testament to the resilience of taste in the face of oblivion.
In a world where traditional monetary systems have faded into obsolescence, Carolina's Mexican food offers a gustatory experience that transcends the barriers of currency. With nothing but a handful of scavenged coins and the promise of gastronomic bliss, I ventured into this Latino oasis. To my surprise and delight, the cost was minimal, a mere trifle compared to the invaluable taste sensations that awaited within. As I savored each bite of the Oaxaca burrito, I couldn't help but marvel at the accessibility of such culinary delights, a rare gem in a world where scarcity reigns supreme. Carolina's, where the price of admission is measured not in coins, but in the joy of gourmet exploration. And as I contemplated the prospect of returning to my homeland, a thought crossed my mind – perhaps I had already found my new home in this era, amidst the flavors and comforts of Carolina's. Who needs the uncertainty of time travel when one has the timeless pleasures of melted cheese and homemade tortillas?
In the annals of history, it was the insidious monotony of fast food chains that led humanity astray, paving the way for the catastrophic 'Big One.' People became numbed to flavor, slaves to familiarity, until they could no longer distinguish one meal from the next. But amidst this sea of culinary conformity, Carolina's stands supreme, a bastion of flavor in a world gone bland. As long as we continue to embrace the vibrant tapestry of tastes that Carolina's offers, we can safeguard against the monotony that once threatened to consume us. Now rise up with me. Let US be the ones that consume!! Let us. Let us. ...
Read moreThis place is poorly managed. The food is always good, if you're lucky enough to get it before they close. Their hours never match what they say on their website, it's even listed with decals on their doors but too many times I have shown up & they've been closed. For example, they say they are open until 9pm. At least a dozen times I've shown up at 7pm thinking my timing would be ok but their doors are locked & the lights are out & no staff in sight. If you're not gonna honor your own hours then just be truthful & update your hours so the customers know. Ordering online is also useless because they never check their web orders. Several times we've tried to use their online order system, which gave us a window of 15-25 minutes for pickup. We showed up at about 25 minutes thinking we were being generous giving the staff more time to get the orders ready only to find out that they didn't check their kiosk & hadn't started the order. One time they even tried to argue with me that I didn't place an order. I called them out & said they were wrong & that I had already paid for it. When I showed them the receipt & order number I still had on my phone, they rushed over to the kiosk & started searching through it. Took them another 15 minutes after that to get the order ready. No apology was given to me for being rude about it. That day I wasn't the only one, there was a line of people in front & behind me who sent online orders that got neglected. I don't know, maybe this place needs some new management, the staff just seems rude & lazy. Closing up 2-3 hours early everyday makes it difficult to be appealing. Probably won't be coming back unless they can make some improvements. It's really sad because my wife & I really love...
Read moreUpdate: Once again we are at Carolinas and it's a quagmire. Almost every table is full but no one has food. As we enter 6 other people came in behind us. As we stood in line, looking at 10 tickets lining up on the wall, 4 of those people left. The ladies making the food are crankin, but nothing is going out. It's very frustrating to see this place struggle. Every Carolinas we've been too has super fast service. This location needs help. *My original review: We absolutely love Carolinas and have since the late 80s. This location is a little lackin though. The original and the one on TBird are fast, friendly and consistently amazing. This location on 59th and Greeway is not. We've been here 6 times. 3 of those times our order was either wrong or the lady put us down as a pick up even though we were dine in. After waiting 20 mins we inquired about our order and they finally found it. No offer to remake it warm or compensate us for the mistake. Twice we've been and had to ask for another register to open because the line was 10 deep. The staff should recognize that themselves. When you have people standing around who just want to give you their money and you're ignoring them, that's a bad sign. We keep coming back because of the food but there are a lot of really good Mexican food places in the valley so that's not enough to keep the doors open. Please get the staff on the same page as the other locations. I'd hate to see this...
