Came for lunch today, Thursday, September 25th, on a recommendation. This restaurant is more of a ‘To Go’ place, but they do have tables to sit and dine-in. When you’re ready to order, place your order at the counter and pay. They’ll bring your food to you packaged ‘To Go.’ I had their Moo Goo Gai Pan, combo meal (dinner portion) and a can of Coca Cola from their cooler. The combo comes with soup, egg roll, and crab puff (as they call it) for $13.25. The soda is $1. The food came, and I started with the crab puff. It was crispy and good. I wouldn’t call it a puff as it was a flat triangle shaped appetizer. The egg roll tasted peculiar. While the roll was nice and crispy, all I could taste was raw cabbage. No shrimp, no pork, or a protein in the filling. The sweet & sour sauce was better than what most other restaurants serve. The soup was an egg drop soup. Its broth was very clear which suggests it was a vegetable broth, and not chicken. It had some good flavor to the soup. The entree was a very good sized portion that filled the container with fried rice, and the Moo Goo Gai Pan. I liked the tender flanks of chicken, and the vegetables. There were mushrooms, water chestnuts, carrots, snap peas, onions, zucchini, and a flavorful gravy. Not impressed with the rice. It wasn’t bad. There were a few big pieces of egg; and had a peculiar taste to it as well. Plenty of leftovers to take home. The restaurant is fairly spacious and clean. The tables and chairs are on one side, and suited for parties of four. Arranging two or more tables together may accommodate larger parties. I did not use their restroom. There’s plenty of parking being located in a strip mall. The food is worth trying. Would I return? If I was in the area and wanted...
Read moreGolden Dragon is now at their new location by Rays Pizza on the north east corner of 59th Ave and Greenway.
They are no longer a true “Dine In” restaurant anymore and it’s heartbreaking that they don’t offer that anymore or even offer to put your food on regular plates and you pick it up after your number is called and then take it back to a table.
Overall the food is still as good as we remember from before the closed the old location. The lo mein does seem a little different though like they’re using a new noodle.
The drink prices are also high for a little can of soda, which is part of why I don’t think we will eat in at Golden Dragon anymore.
I’ll still be getting food to go but this was the one restaurant that my family and I loved to go and sit down and talk with their friendly wait staff.
Hopefully they decide to make some changes, but time will tell.
--------Updated to Review May 2022--------
I've updated the review to 5 stars because while some of the things above still apply, they're food is always fresh and they are still super quick.
They do also bring food to you if you eat in, but it's in their to go containers and there's still no...
Read moreI have been a long time customer to Golden Dragon, about 3 going on 4 years now! Unfortunately they did move to the North East Corner of 59th Ave and Greenway from across the street, but it doesn't take away from how great their food and customer service really is!!
Their potions to price ratio is unbeatable when you compare them to other local Chinese places that isn't Panda Express. I've never been upset with the serving sizes they provide!
Secondly, their food is top notch amazing!! Everything I've tried here has been outstanding, Bursting with flavor, always hot and ready to eat.
My personal favorite (and my actual order everytime) is, The Singapore Rice Noodles, which is great for those who like some spice and love flavorful thin noodles. I personally get it with no meat and no egg but that purely due to preference.
Along with their Orange Chicken and their FLAWLESS Pork Fried Rice!! As well as Two Egg Rolls. I'm able to get all of that food in one order and not break my wallet.
I will forever be a customer to The Golden Dragon and I hope one day they do a FULL Reopening like the old location...
