I think this is the first time I've honestly had true street tacos. I didn't have to order anything on the side. I got to choose my own topping and sauces from the amazing salsa bar. And the options were plentiful. Honestly, after finding Jalapenos Sonora Grill, I am closing my quest for amazing street tacos, amazing sauces, and great prices. I have found what I was searching for! Experience: -We arrived at opening time, meat was not ready but was so worth the (not very long) wait! -The owner Edgar was more than pleasant and accommodating -Edgar obviously knows how to work the grill, cook meat to perfection, and treat his customers -Surprisingly, I'd be interested in trying their burgers…. -The salsa bar was ready, super cold, super fresh, amazing in every way -All tacos can be corn or flour and are double wrapped (double wrapped in corn, not sure if flour are double wrapped as I ordered all corn) -Meat is grilled over charcoal, which as Edgar said, makes the biggest difference! -We were provided boxes to keep all the salsa bar items safe during transport home -My husband called it accurately, he doesn't want the “fluff” he wants tortilla and meat and this was exactly tortilla and a good amount of flavorful, well cooked meat, with an amazing salsa bar to add desired “fluff”. I like the “fluff” but could honestly eat these tacos as is and be very happy Food: -Small Caramelo Quesadilla with steak on flour tortilla, so freaking good, the steak is amazing and the cheese and flour tortilla just put it over the top, then dip it in some avocado crema.. heaven… -Taco de Asada, the best steak taco I've ever had. It was fresh, flavorful, amazing to say the least. The steak was moist, cut perfectly, a surprise favorite! -Taco de Pollo, I usually find chicken tacos dry, this was far from dry. It was moist and had great flavor -Taco de Pastor, also one that I never get. The meat in itself was moist and fine but once the pineapple was added, I suddenly understood the amazingnness of an El Pastor taco -ST Taco Sonora, steak, green chili, and cheese…. Holy moly! So good. -ST Taco de Barbacoa, moist, well flavored -ST Taco Lorenzo, steak, bean, cheese tostada, hard shell. I enjoyed the steak, the cheese, the beans, the shell was fine, not my favorite but also not a complaint -ST Taco Mixto, pastor and steak, the only thing better than the steak Taco and the pastor taco separately, is them mixed, so good! Salsa Bar- free: -Individual foil wrapped grilled onions, so yummy, ate them on their own, like roasted juicy onion petal candy -Cooked season onions, were fine but not something I'd need -Onion and cilantro, fresh, nicely cut, crispy -Raw slivered onions, fresh, crispy -Pickled (lightly) red onion slivers, mild and fresh, crispy -Pico de Gallo, very fresh, not much taste -Pineapple cilantro, fresh sweet pineapple candy I didn't know I needed in my life but wow! -Red medium, fresh, a little hotter than medium, nice pepper flavor -Red super hot, painfully spicy, spice aside, did not care for flavor -Green medium, nicely spicy, herbaceous -Roasted medium, my favorite, roasted, very good -Avocado Crema, TO DIE FOR! Cold, smooth, creamy, would drink it if that wasn't weird -Shredded cabbage, almost like grated cabbage, perfect size for street tacos, super fresh -Tomato slices, the best tomatoes I've had in a long time, crisp and juicy, cold, seriously ate seven slices with just a bit of salt as a snack Final thoughts and future order: I will be back, for sure. I will reign in my order but everything was enjoyable. I honestly don't regret a single thing I tried. In the future, I'd do the asada taco and Sonora taco. With avocado crema, lime, roasted salsa, grilled onions, cabbage, pineapple/cilantro on the side, side of tomato slices. I'm honestly super excited and pleased to have found this place. Drive down 59th Ave, South of Greenway and look for the street sign that simply says TACOS! You won't be...

I just had lunch here earlier today not a pleasant experience. They say first impressions are everything. That' being the case they failed miserably. The attitude of the staff was impatient and unfriendly. I ordered Carne Asada plate. The quality of the food was okay at best. The salsa bar is the best thing they've got going for it to be honest. As a personal chef when you cook presentation is everything. It should look like love on a plate. This looked like slop served on a stryophom plate. No care on how its served at all. When they delivered the meal when I went to try the beans they were were luke warm. When I took my plate to the front the guy was in a foul mood and bitched at me saying they were hot.when they weren't Affer several minutes of him arguing with me he put beans on a plate. Then he instructed someone to put plate in the microwave. I said. no that's not acceptable to me. I said heat the pot you have sitting on the stove. You could tell the cook was not hapoy at all. Lastly, for the quality of the food and what you get is way overpriced at $11 in my opinion. For all the great reviews I was eager to try it and was very disappointed. My advice save your money and spend it elsewhere where your business will...

We came to this place before the “official” inauguration and the food was very good and had a true Sonoran taste. We loved that we had something close to home that was tasteful and provided great service. The last couple of times we noticed someone else in the kitchen and noticed it in the food as well. We continued to go as it was still better then Filiberto's, however, the last time we ordered burritos they where super small half the size of what they used to be and taste was gone. We continued trying it, hoping for the experienced from when they just opened. On the second to last occasion we arrived and they seemed upset as they where already cleaning up. Today we arrived one hour before their posted closure hours and the sign said open but all chairs where put away and the cook ignored us until his coworker told him we where there. According to the guy they had run out of everything. Sad to say, this place just like most food places had a great start but has very rapidly lost its great customer service and tastefulness. I don't think we will be going back or recommending to others at this point unless there is change back to what...

This was our first time trying Jalapeños Sonora Grill & it did not disappoint! We ordered the family 1lb taco meal. You have the option to get 1lb of one meat or you can do half and half of 2 different meats. You also get the option of corn or flour tortillas but we did half and half on that as well. The al pastor and carne asada both had great flavor. Their salsa bar is one of the best we’ve ever came across. There are so many options for salsa & toppings for your tacos. Thank you Edgar & Horacio for the great service & food! We will definitely be back!

Came here for the first time, and when the gentleman up front said it wouldn’t be our last, he wasn’t wrong. They have a toppings bar with onion, pico de gallo, avocado, lime, salsas, etc. so you can just take cups or sides to-go. Looking at the other reviews (all 5-star for a reason btw), most took pictures beforehand, but I think the aftermath speaks volumes too. 100% demolished 😂 We had seven tacos, and they were all SO good. Definitely coming back.
