Crooked Pint Ale House — Restaurant in Glendale

Ate here two nights in a row (Thursday and Friday) while staying at the hotel.

Thursday was great. Fast service, great food, I had the Cheese steak lucy.

Friday, the service could not have been much worse if they tried. Was seated at a table near the bar. The restaurant was not "too busy", certainly less than 50% capacity. There was one very large party near the hotel door.

Hostest seated us around 830, and after 15 minutes a server had not yet stopped by the table. No problem, maybe they missed us. Went back to the hostess who told us that they're "running behind" and it "might be a while". Waited another 15 minutes, still nothing (server has not even acknowledged us, taken drink order, etc). Went back to the hostess, she said she would send a server right away. We were sitting right by the entrance to the kitchen, so its hard to believe that they couldn't see us. It seemed like they were trying their best to ignore us and not make eye contact. Ignored us when we tried to flag them down.

After another 10 minutes of being ignored, went to the bar and asked for a server. She said she would get somebody right away. Eventually an server came by and asked "how are we doing tonight", of course I told him "not great after being ignored for about 45 minutes". And all he had to say was "sorry, we got busy".

Would be nice if the hostess would notify about such a long wait, but still, no excuse to be ignored for 45 minutes (not even acknowledged that we were waiting). Of course we would have gone elsewhere if I knew it would be that long.

Food was good, but certainly won't be back, and definitely cannot recommend somewhere that completely ignores paying customers...

I try to rarely leave negative reviews, as there could always be something underlying that I don’t know about. But in this case it was the lack of communication that really was disappointing. I try to be a super patient customer as I know establishments have to deal with short tempered guests, and this restaurant really tested my calm. I ordered at 6:47pm and didn’t get my food until about 7:45pm. I stood near the host check-in area, calmly waiting, at no point did anyone stop to let me know why my meal was taking so long. A simple explanation goes a long wait. When I did manage to get ahold of someone I was told it was on the way (still ended up being another 25mins). Once I got the food, and took it to my room, I noticed the fries were lukewarm and the hamburger the same. I’d expect the food to have been fresh and hot after waiting so long. And again, when I was given the food after almost an hour waiting no reason was given for the delay. If the restaurant was under staffed that day, just share that. If the cook was in training share that. If my order was misplaced share that. But the lack of communication even more than the average food is what left me feeling underwhelmed. And I don’t seek handouts, but after an hour waiting some kind of comp, should have been offered. Discount my meal or an offer for voucher to come again so they could give a better showing. But at this point definitely not a place I would...

The restaurant is attached to the holiday inn. The venue is super large with indoor and out door seating and plenty of parking because it’s next to the top golf. The venue also has multiple TVs and a full size bar if you just want to come for a drink.

We ordered Totchos, cheese curds, a Lucy burger and the walleye fish and chips. The totchos are huge and super good. Totchos are jumbo tater tots that are served with extra cheese and bacon. The tater tots were also super crunch for their size and just perfect. The cheese curds are also very good. They are a small size but there are a lot on the plate.

The walleye fish and chips were also pretty good. It’s a very large piece of walleye that’s super flaky and light. You can upgrade your fries to other options.

The Lucy burger was a little disappointing. The waitress explained that all of the burgers including the Lucy burgers are cooked to a medium. But the one what was served to us was not medium. It was over done. We upgraded the fries on this burger to garlic Parmesan fries. The garlic on the fries is super flavorful chopped garlic.

The ranch served here is also good. Our waitress was great and super nice and very attentive. We would come back and try other items. Maybe not the Lucy burger again unless they can cook it to a medium. -...
