My friend Stacie and I went to the Glendale location last night for the 1st time and I am hooked! The food is mouthwatering and delicious, the portions are more than generous. the service was top notch (we had Pete, Hailey and Bella the robot) all stop by to take great care of us, and the vibe is wonderful.
Our wait staff was wonderful and patient, taking their time to explain things and answer questions. We started with a Masala tea and Madras coffee. My friend Stacie ordered the Gobi Manuchrian cauliflower appetizer and I got the vegetable pakora fritters. There are SOOOO many gluten free and vegan options here which made me so happy because I have many food allergies and so it was wonderful to have so many choices. Our appetizers were flavorful and large portions which we took home. The tamarind and mint chutneys were delicious. Stacie ordered the Vindaloo Paneer with garlic Naan and I got the Channa Masala and Aloo Gobi. They all came with a heaping portion of basmati rice and we got to choose our spice level. All of our dishes were fragrant and cooked to perfection.
Our wait staff Pete and Hailey were delightful and friendly and checked on us multiple times. The owner Sam Haldi also came over about 4 times to greet us, and check in. I ordered the Vegan Kheer for dessert which was AMAZING. Hailey took the time to make sure I knew it was made with carrots and spices and to ensure it was what I wanted.
I had enough to eat 2 meals the next day and I honestly am debating whether to go to the Surprise location to get more tomorrow!!
Such a lovely experience. The owners and so friendly and kind, the place is immaculate with a great vibe and the food and service were top notch. I will...
Read moreI went there for the first time with my parents in law and husband today and had certain expectations knowing this place had 4.5 rating. However we're greatly disappointed, the food had presentation but lacked quality and taste. The naans and tandoori roti were a joke they were super thin like papads, have never seen naans like that. They brought them out half cooked initially, had to send them back to cook properly. In appetizers we ordered veggie pakoras, gobi Manchurian and chicken65. Pakoras tasted so bad and under cooked that we left most of it untouched. The tandoori chicken and chicken kabob tasted sweet, again unexpected. The malai kofta was terrible according to my mother in law who is a great judge of food. Only decent item we had for the night was mango Lassi, chicken65 and butter chicken. Complete waste of money with such unexpected quality of food, never going back there.
To the owner's response - Dear owner, we have tried enough Indian restaurants (fine dining included) not just in the valley but around the world and cook Indian home food to know the authentic and expected taste. I called out quality because of "QUALITY" of the naan, roti and the pakoras that were served to us. We gave the feedback on table too. So, as a business owner, you should know what I am talking about here. You should be able to take good as well as bad reviews and if possible try to address the concerns raised. It's perfectly OK for you to focus on what your majority of customers(mostly American as we observed) like, as its OK for me to give my...
Read moreSo, I'm a AAA roadside emergency service guy. I'm really a nobody until my yellow lights flashes behind your car when you are on the side of the road needed help... than, i put on my cape of the super hero. However, a couple of nights ago, the super hero cape goes to the manager or the owner of Haldi, Indian restaurant. I was called in for a flat tire for one of his employee, and she didn't have the key to loosen all the lug nuts. After calling her mom, her mom tells her that she had a completed kit with several keys for that very reason and that she would bring it over. So after waiting nearly 40 minutes with other calls in queue, she arrived and saved the night.
Where this review really comes in is for the kindness and thoughtfulness of the manager. When i was done, he had his cook make me a butter chicken dish and he gave it to me as a to go order. I went to my girlfriend place and we shared it together. Let me tell you...OMG !!!!! it was not spicey at all, which was perfect because i like tasting my food, and not have my mouth and tongue on fire. I have a delicate French palet (lol) and taste to me is important, so trust me when i tell ya that it was phenomenal !! I did not go in, but i drove to the front and looked inside and it was very nice and clean, hence the 5 stars . I have no pictures, but the are really not needed.
So... yeah... there you have it. It's people like this that will make me go back to Haldi in Glendale..
I'll give it my...
