Disappointed by Poor Service Despite Past Great Experiences

I’ve been a loyal customer at Picazzo’s for quite some time, especially because of their excellent vegan options, which make dining out with my brother so much easier. However, my most recent visit for my sister’s birthday was incredibly disappointing due to the service we received.

Our waitress seemed visibly irritated, impatient, and dismissive throughout our meal. When I inquired about substituting salmon with pasta, her response was, “We can’t do anything crazy,” which felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Additionally, when I asked about special birthday desserts, she curtly replied, “Whatever you want,” without offering any details or options. Her tone and attitude made me feel disregarded and unwelcome, which was incredibly frustrating, especially since I was trying to ensure my sister had a great birthday experience.

Unfortunately, my entire family noticed the negative energy, and it left a sour impression on what should have been a special occasion. As someone who works in the service industry, I understand the challenges of the job, but kindness and professionalism should always be a priority. After this experience, I’m hesitant to return, which is disappointing given how much we’ve enjoyed dining here in the past.

Visited Picasso's recently because they are local to me and I support local business, plus I noticed they have a huge vegan menu!!! I came near closing and didn't realize it, but they were happy to have me and very accommodating. I was seated at the bar per my request and right away had my drink order taken. They didn't play around with that one, it was a super delish raspberry infused cocktail. I had a big appetite and was so excited for all the options I could choose from. I started my meal with vegan cheeze bread and vegan meetballs plus marinara sauce. My plan was to eat these together, like a pizza. The best part of this dish to my surprise was the marinara. That ish was bomb.diggity.com!!! Omgeee, I couldn't get enough so I was really grateful that it came with both the meetballs and cheeze bread! The meetballs were over seasoned, but they paired well with everything else. The cheeze bread was just about perfection. I followed this order with the Beyond Sausage Mushroom and Pesto Plate. This dish was for sure the star of my dinner show!! It was lite, super flavorful, and very filling. My wife ordered for pickup tonight and was quoted 20 minutes. I timed it out so that I could pick up food for my son and I then go pick her food up. I was actually 10 minutes late picking up her order. After navigating a horrible parking lot where there was zero parking available, I finally arrived at Picazzo's and was told that my food was still going to be another 10 minutes. That puts our 20 minute pickup time up to 40 minutes. The poor young hostess, who had nothing to do with meal prep apologized profusely and said that it should have already been done. I had to make a decision to either let the rest of food get cold or drive home and make my wife drive all the way back to pick up her food (which is what I did). I called the young lady to inform her of my plan and she again repeatedly apologized and said she would talk to her manager to see what they could do for us. I said thank you and hung up. My wife made the trip back over there and when she got there, not a word was said about the 40 minute wait time, the return trip, nothing. All they did was charge her full price for the meal, which according to her, was not worth the price or the headache.
