Went in for the first time, we are new to the state, moved here from Dearborn, Michigan area, and I was missing middle eastern/Iraqi food. I found Sindbad Grill & Bakery through Google...drove over an hour to go there...and boy was it worth the trip. I looked over the menu, and ordered an assortment of appetizers, sandwiches, an entree, and bread. They were pretty busy, but everyone there was so pleasant, despite the obvious stress of an afternoon rush. This place isnt "cheap"...no, it's fresh food, very good food, quality food. It was a bit of a wait, but i ordered quite a bit of food...boy was it worth the trip, the wait, and the money! Money well spent. Generous portions of meat/chicken/falafel/kebab iraqi...and everything tasted wonderful...the flavor and quality of the ingredients speak for themselves in the food! It was better than anything i have had in Michigan. I think what all I got will last my husband and I a few days! I will have to plan on making regular trips out to Glendale to go to Sindbad's! Also, when i have company over, I'm definitely ordering from Sindbads, or we are...
Read moreThis place hasn't even been open for a week when I came in for dinner with my husband. Food ranged from FABULOUS to pretty good. Nothing was disappointing. The bread , hummus, babaganoush, red cabbage l, falafel and soups were absolutely amazing. We got the chicken and beef shawarma plates which were pretty good but didn't stand out like the other stuff. However, I LOVED the dinning experience. The place was so clean and staff was so kind. They brought out a cup of soup to start, then 4 plates with babaganoush, hummus, pickled red cabbage, and touboulleh plus a side of bread. Then we got our meals and a side of beans in a tomaote sauce. Last my husband also got a falafel sandwich. Overall very impressed this was their opening week and the quality was were its at. Would definitely be a regular if we lived closure. Plus the price was extremely affordable. You would spend more at a fast food joint then here but this place you get fresh food and a...
Read moreThe food was excellent, the service was warm and attentive, and the owner was incredibly friendly. He mentioned that the current menus are just temporary and that more detailed menus are coming soon.
I ordered the kibbeh hameth, and the portion was HUGE, definitely more than I expected. My husband and cousin really enjoyed their meals too (pictured), and we all agreed everything tasted fresh and authentic. We also tried the lahm bi jeen and falafel as appetizers, and both were delicious.
It’s refreshing to finally have an Iraqi restaurant in town that goes beyond the usual shawarma, gyros, and kabobs that every other place offers. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying their tashreeb with quzi next! If you are looking for traditional Iraqi cuisine, I highly recommend checking...
