Try not ordering the burrito because they use the same cheese that is for hamburgers. Usually the burrito has mozzarella cheese or just no cheese. Green salsa is not spicy, no pico de gallo, no guacamole, radishes cut too thick, and limes not ripe. Sometimes the aqua frescas are either too water down, strong flavor, or not the right ratio of sugar and the flavor. There was one time, it was long time ago that the drink tasted funny like it was going bad. Another thing to add, be wary when they give you change. I was in a rush and didn't notice until I was home. When checking change I was missing $3. I know it may not seemed like much, but it is the principle of the matter. That is why everytime when I order there, I always ask a receipt and check the change. Also, there are some things on the menu they don't serve like the wet burrito. I asked them about it once and they said, "We don't serve that thing, sorry pick something else". The way that employee said to me was condescending and made me feel like I was stupid to even ask that. Hopefully, they have changed the menu to reflect what they serve. I haven't been there since mid September and I am hopeful that they did change at...
Read moreI just got on Yelp, and one of the first places that came to mind to review was El Tapatio Taqueria in the city of Burbank. My grandparents live right up the street from this taco joint and the first time my wife and I came here to eat we instantly fell in love. I always order the Super Burrito al pastor and I've got to say this restaurant probably has the best al pastor I've ever had.
One of the cashier lady is extremely nice she is always happy to see my wife and our daughter and talks to her, always checks on us if we're okay, sad to say I never got her name.
The only negative thing I can say is since our first visit I noticed they hired new cooks and you can tell the difference. The ratio of rice, meat and sauce is not the same as the cook they first had, and he wrapped the burrito nice and tight. The new cook/s wrapped my burrito so loosely it fell apart instantly and I was extremely disappointed. But because the flavor of ingredients they use is so delicious I still give it a 5. I just hope the cook we like still works there or the new cooks get...
Read moreExcellent menu! We tried a few of the meats and everything was outstanding! They put plenty of cheese with their tacos and burritos and it really compliments everything. The prices are fair and really the best for Mexican food in the area. So many more things to try, but can definitely recommend the birria.
Still enjoying many of the items off of both the American and Mexican menus. Really only drawback is that the burgers are a little too well done. I've had to make sure to ask them not to overdo the meat. Other than that, their greatest sin is only having the champurrado available only during the cold season. I'd still have a cup with breakfast on a 70...
