The worst service I have ever experienced in my life!!!! I visited Phoenix with my boyfriend for a NFL game, and we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. At the reception, there was like 5 minute wait. When the lady ( Asian young lady with glasses) called my name, she didn’t even say Hi, just pointed at a table and left. We just sat ourselves. When we were trying to figure out how to order, she came by and pointed the QR code and left again. The menu via the QR code doesn’t even show what ingredients in each soup, and there was no physical menu offered. We actually got on google to look at the physical menus people posted in reviews to figure out what was included in each soup. Finally, my boyfriend submitted the order on the phone, he wanted to ask the waitress if the order was in but couldn’t find anyone. At some point, the lady came back with the soft drinks we ordered. My boyfriend felt so relieved and said “oh we were just wondering if the order was in lol”. He was laughing and trying to be friendly with the waitress, but the lady just gave him a glance and walked away without saying a word. My boyfriend was so shocked, and he asked me if he said anything inappropriate or annoyed her somehow ( I am Asian and he is Arabic, and he thought there was some culture difference or whatever) I was like no… some people are just mean for no reason… After that, the only time the lady came back was 30 minutes later to put the check on our table… ( food was delivered by a waiter, she never came back to our table) when we still had a lot of food on the table, and we never asked for the check. Later on, the waitress was serving the table next to us where there sat two white people. This time the waitress was so patient and ordered everything on their phone for them. She explained everything in the menu in great details ( surprisingly she speaks very fluent English. Initially I thought she didn’t talk at all because she was not confident in speaking English). I again confirmed that she was just mean for no reason, and probably racist too. I asked my boyfriend to leave no tips, but he left 10% in the end anyway. The worst dining experience ever among all the restaurants I have been to in different continents in...
Read moreReview of Tasty Pot, Glendale Location
I recently visited Tasty Pot in Glendale, and I was disappointed with my experience, mainly because of the service.
When I arrived, I hoped for a nice meal, but I quickly noticed that the service was not great. Other diners around me were being taken care of much better. The servers were checking in with them, offering soup refills, and making sure they had everything they needed. In contrast, my requests seemed to be ignored.
When I asked for a to-go box, the server just handed me a box without giving me a plastic bag to carry it. I saw other tables getting both a box and a bag without having to ask. It was frustrating to feel overlooked for such a simple request.
I also ordered extra rice, which took a long five minutes to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. It was disappointing to see that the service seemed to depend on how the staff judged their customers. It felt like they only paid attention to those who looked more presentable.
Overall, while the food at Tasty Pot was okay, the service really let me down. I think all customers deserve equal attention, no matter how they look. I hope the management can improve this, as I would like to come back for a better experience...
Read moreI am genuinely sad I am writing this review. So this restaurant is under new ownership now. I have been coming here for years, and have always raved about this place. Not anymore. So as soon as we walk into the restaurant, they have a QR code to scan so you order yourself. I've always asked for minor additional things to my order, and prior to this it was never a problem. Nope, now the staff is confused with the new system, and since my requests aren't an "option" in the system, they straight up refuse to do it.
Everything about the food is different. The dumplings used to be amazing, now they're frozen and flavorless. The broth is insanely salty now. No flavor, just salt, nearly inedible. Every ingredient is different now. Even the black tea tastes bad now, I used to love it.
We got the Szechuan hot pot. The vermicelli noodles are gross now, there's giant chunks of potato, the soup was mostly cabbage.
I felt the entire time we were there, our waitress was just mad at us. It is sad to say that this place is off my list. I went from giving it a 5/5 for service and food, and now it's a 1/5.
I hope new ownership acknowledges that many of these changes won't be welcomed from loyal customers. I am...
