I was shopping around for blood orange citrus tree 15 gallon. I called Moonvalley nursery for a price they said $299.not that I would have purchased it from them just to get an idea from different places how much it cost. moonValley Will con you,.4 of the 11 trees I bought back in 2014 from them they planted them for me too 4 of them didn’t either mature or survive after one year warranty expired. I was out of luck.
I do not recommend Moonvalley nursery they cannot be trusted. So I called Summerwinds nursery and Tyler answered the phone. He was very courteous very knowledgeable. He told me price of 15 gallon was $148. Which was half of Moonvalley nursery price.
& the best part (wait for it) they guarantee the trees for life.yes it’s not a typo for life. You can call 10 other nurseries non will give you life time guarantee, It gets better Tyler told me Wednesdays is 15% off if you are over 60 years old. So I took advantage of the 15% off. Staff at this nursery are Super friendly, super nice & very helpful.
Too bad I didn’t make my purchase in 2014 from this nursery. They would have backed up tge 4 trees that died from Moonvalley nursery. Don’t ever shop at moon valley nursery they are rip off they cannot be trusted. Plus Summerwinds gives you 15% off why would you want to shop anywhere else?
Tyler and Ryan and the rest of the staff thank you for the excellent customer service. You will be seeing me on Wednesdays for my future purchases. P.S. The photo you see is my landscaper removing plum tree the last of the 4 trees from MoonValley nursery because it’s not harvesting plums.I lost $450 for 4 trees I purchased from Moon...
Read moreMy first trip here was great. A staff member walked right up to me, listened to what I was looking for, and made thoughtful suggestions. I ended up purchasing 6 bells of fire. The leaves were a little wilted, but I thought once they were in the ground, they would be fine-and they were.
Subsequent visits have been major let downs. I've been back a few times over the course of several weeks to buy perennials, and it was a totally different experience. No one would approach me despite looking quite lost for about 10 minutes and lucking into what I was looking for. The entire selection of what I wanted were all wilted, sad, and in need of pruning for dead leaves and blooms, but I was hoping it would be like the bells of fire.
Well, glad I kept the receipts. All 11 were super root bound. Despite lots of effort and research on my part, 1 has already completely died and the rest are on their way. I'll be digging them up for a refund and will definitely not purchase additional plants here (Home Depot is only a little further up the road, and at least their gardening dept. is consistently friendly).
I was going to change this to 3 stars because of the positive first trip, but after returning an unneeded bag of soil with an incredibly rude cashier, I'll keep...
Read moreI purchased approximately $150 in plants & this is just a recent purchase. I planned to go back to purchase a $500 fountain but no way now. The vine I purchased died & without thinking I threw it away. I stopped to the store anyway because on the receipt it does say bring the plant in OR your receipt. Well no go so I think with as much as I have purchased with them over the last 8 years they could give me a break. Their loss in the long run. UPDATE 1/31/25 This last Wednesday I took my receipt & went back to Summer Winds as directed in their response. All I can say is if I had an employee like Daryl she’d be fired in a heartbeat. She wouldn’t listen to me when I was trying to explain to her that I was directed to come back in. She treated me like a liar & was beyond rude. She said let me see your phone, that’s where I had the reply. Once she read it, she still said we don’t do this but then called for a manager. Scott was very polite & helped me. He gave me a receipt. We were out in the parking lot & the other cashier ran out saying lady you didn’t sign & here's your receipt, I said I have one & she basically called me a liar saying no here it is. I worked in customer service over half of my career and would never ever treat a customer the way I was...
