Caramba just lost a customer of 10+years

  • We have been patronizing Caramba for over 10 years; we have brought friends and family from out of town to eat here, ordered large meals for celebrations, and ordered from there several times each week* The first time in 10 years that we had a problem with our order and management refused to fix it Horrible Customer Service Experience

On 12/22 we ordered my birthday dinner from Caramba. It cost $70. All the food was great, as usual, EXCEPT for two items: the chicken fundido barely had any sauce and was dry and the chile relleno didn’t taste right. I ate about half of my fundido because I was starving but my wife ate none of her relleno.

Since we had company over, we decided to call Caramba the next day to deal with the issue.

On 12/23, my wife stopped by Caramba with the food to explain the situation. The 1st person said “you ate all of it” and refused to even listen to my wife. He got his manager, who was even worse. He didn’t even open her container of UNEATEN food, nor did he even try to identify and correct the issue. He told my us “we’ve been making these for xx years”, “what happened, did you get full and then decide to come back for more?” and “do you know how many of these we sell a week?” And he kept going back to “you ate all of it” (which is untrue) and “why didn’t you bring it back yesterday?” My wife was getting upset as she was being berated by these two. Finally the manager said “call the owner, John” and gave us his number.

My wife called the number and got another Caramba. She spoke to the manager, Oscar, who listened to the issue and said he would have John call us on 12/24.

12/24 came and went. No call.

I called Oscar’s store back on 12/26 and started by speaking to a young lady who asked which items I had the issue with. As I was answering her question, a man came on the phone and said “This is Ralph, the manager! You ate your food!” and that he “can’t” do anything for me.

I could barely get a word in edgewise. I finally was able to say “are you even going to listen to what I have to say?“ All Ralph could do was go back to the fact that I waited till the next day to let them know about the issue and that we ate “all the food“ (once again, untrue).

Disgusted, I told Ralph the he lost a customer of 10+ years and hung up.

Today is 12/27 and I have still not heard from anyone, yet we gave our phone numbers to three different people.

I don’t care if you’ve been making this food for 35 or whatever years. You messed up and couldn’t own up to it.

For anyone at Caramba’s who is reading this, do the math: 3x a week at $10 a visit. Minimum of 5x a year at $70 a visit = $1,910 annually, on average, that you just lost because you chose to argue about $20 in food and insult your long...

This is the worst EstablishmentI have ever been to they are incredible rude which is really sad especially in this world we live in. But thats not the worst part. The manager at the restaurant on 67th ave and bell completely violated me. I had been working in the area and i went there a few times to use the restroom. The last time i was there i was in the restroom and the manager who is a male walked into the restroom while i was using it and proceeded to have a conversation with me telling me to get out because tne reatroom was for customers only he didnt even nicely give me and option and say ma'am younhave to.buy something which i would have had no problem doing. No he decided to be a bully and tell me to get out. On my way out i still donated miney because i wanted to honor the rules and be a hood person. When i tried to talk to the manager to tell him that he made me feel very uncomfortable when he walked into the restroom whileni was usingnit he basically blew me offf and stated he didnt care then he lied and said there were no women there workimg so he HAD to go in when clearly i was starring at 2 women working. Later that day i called and asked for yhe corporate office phone number and he put me on hold then came bavk and said they didnt have a corporate office which i knew was a lie then as i was trying to tslk he kept cutting me off. I really hope something gets done about this because no man manager or not should be able to walk to into the ladies rok. Like that and completely violate my privacy and safety. I will pursue this as much as possible because something should be done restaurants are getting out of control. They no longer have any common courtesy or rspect for customers and a manfer is supposed to be there to demonstrate resoect and integrity for tje company so its said when they are the ones abusing their power. If he was comfortable walkimgnimnon a customer lkke that i only pray for the woman workers. I will NEVER go.here or eat at another carambas AGAIN...

Me & my family Love this Caramba's. My parents visit often and they know the owner. Juan is a part time manager and is Very Friendly and has AMAZING customer service. We usually sit in the Restaurant area and have never had any complaints on the service or food. However, Me & my sister decided to go have some margaritas at the Bar for Cinco De Mayo. The Bartender Jake or Jacob was Extremely Rude. Every time we asked for something it was as if we were bothering him. Yet anytime a "White" patron sat down he treated them like GOLD! They were playing "American Woman" by Lenny Kravitz and we asked him if he could change the music to something more Festive given that it was Cinco De Mayo. Jacob or "Jake" replied with "Nobody likes that kinda music & people get mad when its played." Me & my sister were both taken back by that response because it's a Mexican Restaurant and why would anyone feel offended by Mexican music being played? I understand that the music is up to the Restaurants discretion but that response was very rude. We expressed that to him & he ignored us from that point forward. We are usually VERY GOOD tippers and don't complain much about service but I couldn't help but think that JACOB was being extremely Racist towards us. Kind of Ironic given he works at a Mexican Restaurant. I love this Carambas as does my family but we will stick to the Restaurant side from now on if that's the kind of service that's provided at the Bar. Jacob you are RUDE & lack customer service....

The food was very good but it’s not what I ordered. I was already home so I did not ask them to fix it. I placed the order for online and it was not a good experience. When I walked up to the pick up line and they made me go around and wait in line even though I already paid (and tipped). The done orders were visible but it was busy so I thought I would go to the bar and order a drink while waited for the staff to get my food. I knew even if I couldn’t finish the drink I would at least be able to sit down. This would be a win/win or so I thought. The bartender made me get up and wait in line which was now twice as long. The food was great but did not like how awkward everything was as a customer trying to get the correct food. Convenience is a huge factor in deciding where to eat.

Great Mexican food at a great price. I called in my order by phone and it was done faster than I thought. Then when I got there to pick it up, it was ready right away. The staff are friendly, the inside of the restaurant is clean and overall it's a great place. I ordered the caramba super nachos and they are a great deal. They have a ton of meat, guacamole, sour cream and Pico on them and they are very flavorful. The grilled jalapenos are also large and spicy.
